My name is Miriam Jepkosgei Metto 38 years old from Kenya, I reside in Timboroa estate approximately 20Km South of Eldoret Town. I am married with 2 children, first born is in class 8 and second born in class 5. I got my primary education in the same place and later joined a neighboring high School. After completing high school I never proceeded to university due to lack of School fees, I depended on my parents who were doing causal work in my village. Because of the poor background I was brought up in, I became provoked and decided not to remain poor as people would view my family. Ever since I have worked diligently and remained focused in my business. To raise capital to start my business I was forced to wash clothes for neighbors and tilling their lands. I started by hawking second hand clothes but today by the grace of God I have transformed it to a boutique now selling new clothes in wholesale and retail price. I use part of profit to educate my bright firstborn girl who wants to become a neurosurgeon when she grows up. I like singing and spend my part time practicing songs in the church since I am in choir.
My business entails selling of all types of clothes like men’s wear, ladies wear and children wear I also sell mattresses among others. I choose this business since Kenya people are fashionable and like spending much money in design wear. This business will always be on demand because people cannot live without clothing which is a basic need. I buy my stock from manufacturers and suppliers who give me at a very affordable price and hence conquering my competitors who sell them very expensive. The quality of my clothes, competitive price and good customer care has made customers to flock in my business daily and has contributed much in rising of my profit margin everyday. I reinvest my profit to business, part paying school fees and meeting house hold needs while the rest is saved for future projects
Dear Lenders and Zidisha team I wish to thank for accepting me as Zidisha borrower and creating this noble platform for borrowing. I have been given an order to supply school uniform to one of the neighborhood school. This loan will complement my capital. If given this loan 80 dollars will be used to print logo for those school uniforms and the rest 20 dollars will pay the labor. This will help in delivering the school uniforms in time and also increase my profit margin with 55%. Thank you esteemed lenders for supporting my project. God bless you all.
