About Me

My names are Mary Wanjiku Kimani. I am a resident of Kiptangwanyi shopping center, a distance of forty five kilometers from Nakuru town which is our major town. I am a married and living with my husband and two children. Our kids are in school. Two of them are in secondary school and the other one is in Primary school. I am working hard to ensure that my children are educated. The lifestyles are now changing and the society growing at a faster rate than the education meets. It is therefore this growth that has made me to see the need to give my children the best and quality education.I live in plot number 199. This is a piece of land that I bought from the business that I operate at the shopping center. My business entails the services of gas refilling. There is no other business in this area that offer this services and thus I enjoy the good market that there is in this area. I intend to do better with this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization. The loan will boost the business and hope that it will improve it for the better.

My Business

My business at the shopping center entails the services of gas refilling. I started this business in the year 2007 after the electrification of Kiptangwanyi. This is a business that requires electricity and it was difficult to start this kind of business when the area was not electrified. It is this opportunity that prompted me to start the business. I had operated this business in Gilgil town but it was not that good especially with the world fluctuation of fuel prices that was affecting the business. In Gilgil the cost of operating the gas pump was also very high and this minimized the profits. The main challenges that this business encounter is frequent power outages and world fluctuation prices of crude oil products. The year 2009 was very bad for the business and this threatened the positive progress of the business. This was associated with the drought and also the economy of the country was not that very good for the business. The future for the business is promising with stability in the economy of the country.

Loan Proposal

Thank you all lenders and Zidisha organization.
I would like to use the loan to do the following. Firstly, I would like to purchase a new gas pump. This will replace the one I am using as it is old. Secondly, I would also like to open another outlet within the shopping and utilize all the available opportunities in the shopping center. This will enable me to serve many customers and will enable me to serve my customers well.

    Halsa Mary,

I hope this letter finds you well. When reviewing your account, I see that no payment has been made since August of 2013. Your lenders put their faith in your ability to repay so that they may lend to others. This strengthens the whole community. You have not paid since August of 2013. When can we expect payment to bring your account current?

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that the repayment of 29.57 USD (2,500 KES) posted on July, 29 in the repayment schedule of Ms Ndumia was entered by mistake. This means that, upon removal of the transaction, the amount that had been credited to your lender account will be reversed and will reduce your available balances accordingly.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please, let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best regards,

    Roberta
    Zidisha Team

    Greetings Mary,
I am excited to receive your payment. I will now loan the money to another Kenyan. Our little drops will someday make an ocean. I hope that you are seeing an increase in business after the calm of the election. Everyday there are more motorcycles so I am sure your business will increase.
Best wishes for health, success and prosperity, Ann
