About Me

My names are Keziah Nyambura Wangare. I am a single lady living in plot number 591 at Kiptangwanyi trading center. I am a resident of Kiptangwanyi shopping center. I was born in a place called Makongo village. This is just about two kilometers from the shopping center. I attended Muriricua Primary school and later joined Murircua secondary school for my secondary certificate. After school I stayed home for some few months where I was assisting in farming. I later started a business at the shopping center of selling mobile phone accessories. This I started with a small stock of phone covers, keypads and phone bodies. The business slowly grew and at the moment I have quite a good stock and the business is better. I also stocked a few electrical accessories and they are improving the status of my business. I usually get my stock from Nairobi and thus I sell my products at a relatively cheaper price compared to my competitors. I also ensure that I purchase at a wholesale price and this reduces the transport costs.

My Business

My business at the shopping center is that of selling mobile phone accessories and electrical accessories. I do sell covers, keypads, phones bodies, chargers as well batteries. I also do sell electrical accessories. These include things such as torches, bulbs, electric cables, extensions and plugs, lampshades and all sorts of electrical appliances. This business is good and the demand for the products that I sell is usually high. The months of November and December have been very good and the revenues that I got these two months were very good. This business has very high potential and I hope to improve this business to a higher level. The shopping center has electricity and this is good for the business. I love this business and I work hard to satisfy my customers and also to provide the best products for my customers. The main challenges that this business encounters are frequent power outages and high cost of electricity. It is my hope to improve the business through this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization.

Loan Proposal

Thank you for such a great opportunity in my life to be funded with a loan from Zidisha organization. I will divide the money that I will get from the loan into two. The first bunch of the money, I will purchase more stock of phone accessories in the business. the second bunch of the loan, I will introduce electrical appliances in the business. This will increase the number of my customers in the business.

Well I tried. When I found out about Zidisha I thought I could help. Unfortunately, I decided to help you. You took a little of my money and a lot of my faith in humanity.
I hope you enjoy the money you stole. There won't be any more coming.

    Dear Keziah,
I'm sorry to hear that your shop was robbed / burglarized. It is tragic, but dishonest people and criminals are everywhere.
I hope that you are eventually able to again generate income and regain a positive image in the Zidisha community.
    Best wishes,
    Marvin

    Lenders,
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that I have not been in a position to make repayments as stipulated in my profile. I ran into some problems which negatively affected my business and therefore I have been behind in repaying my loan and thus I wish that I be granted some more time that I will be able to organize things again. I am positive that things will be well and that I will resume the repayment as stated in my profile.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha.

Here I have some updates regarding Ms Nyambura: in June, we were informed by his Volunteer Mentor that her shop was robbed ad, so she had to close down her business.
After several contact attemps, we were able to keep in touch with her last week, on July 4. I directly spoke with her at the phone. She told me that she has not started a new business yet, but she intends to start repaying her loan, little by little, with small repayments.

If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your patience and best wishes to you,

    Roberta

Something is giving me a feeling that none of us are going to see any repayment. Its not about the money its about not lying.
