My full names are Beatrice Nyambura Njoroge. I am a resident of Kiptangwanyi Shopping center about 45 kilometers from nakuru. I was born in central province of Kenya at a place called Maragua. I attended my primary school in this area and later joined secondary school for my Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (K.C. S. E) which I successfully completed. We relocated to Kiptangwanyi in the year 2002. At this time I was still in school. After my secondary education, I attended a three months course to do computer. After completing this course, I was employed in a cyber cafe where I got some money to start my own business of a boutique. I had intended to start a cyber cafe business but finances became a limitation and thus this became impossible. I live in plot number 93 at Kiptangwanyi shopping center. My business is good and I usually get good profit from it.
As I have stated, I had intended to start the business of a cyber cafe at the shopping center the initial cost of starting a cyber was too high and I did not have that kind of money at that time. It is to this point that I settled for a boutique business which required slightly less amount of capital compared to that of a cyber cafe. This money was from my three years of saving plus I was able to get a loan from my lending group. With this I was armed to start my own business. I secured a good house at the shopping center at a strategic place near the market place. This means that during the market days which are usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays I am in a very good position of making more profit from the business. These two days I usually sell almost twice of what I usually sell on other normal days. I make sure that I provide the best for my customers and I am certain that this business will prosper in future.
Thank you for this gracious opportunity from Zidisha microfinance. I have planned to use this loan that I will be granted to introduce men's clothes in the boutique. My boutique has been dominated a lot by women's clothes and this has been keeping male customers away from my business. By introducing men;s clothes I know that I will be in a position to get more customers and the business will have improved.
