As I have stated, am a resident of nakuru town. I live here with my wife and three children. I eke a living by selling fruits. I started by being employed to sell bananas on a wheelbarrow. I would push the wheelbarrow to prime areas like matatu terminals, outside the supermarkets and at the free parks. Then I started to buy bananas on my own at wakulima market popularly kwnown as soko at wholesale prices. I would then go and hawk them at retail prices and make some profit. Initially municipal council askaris were hostile and I would part with something small to be allowed to trade. Eventually I saw that they were eating my profits and thats why I started my own temporary store (kibanda) from where I sell fruits to walk in customers. The money I get I use it to feed my family, pay house rent, municipal charges and educate my children.
Thank you lenders for giving me a chance to empower myself economically. I sell fresh fruits at my kibanda (small kiosk) to walk in customers. Fruits business is very risky because fruits are perishable and so I have to be very meticulous when sourcing for my products. I go for the quality fruits and this makes my customers prefer my business and also refer others. The business is profitable with enough quality stock and proper storage methods. I make around five to seven hundred shillings daily profit. I I pay municipal charges, house rent, school fees and keep the rest for my savings. Given the loan I plan to use the funds to purchase more stock and increase revenue.
