About Me

I am 30 years old mother of two, married to a 35 years old man. I did my a-level exams in 2002 and passed with an aggregate of C. I went further to study for a course in hair dressing and graduated in the year 2004 December. I am currently running my salon, cosmetic and M-pesa shop in Mombasa Shanzu along Mombasa- Malindi road which i started to generate income in my struggle to be self dependent and to boost the family income to better our standards of living.
My first born is a 7year old girl child who has been promoted to standard three next year and a 10 months old boy who is still under my care. My husband did his a-level examinations in 1996.he proceed to Mombasa polytechnic university college for a diploma course in Civil and Structural Engineering. He currently works the municipal council of Mombasa. To maximize on profits I have introduced a variety of goods and services like hairdressing, pedicure, manicure, massage, hair cut, hair plaiting, relaxing, blow-drying, steaming, dyeing, nail brushing and polishing, in addition to providing Safaricon services(leading mobile service provider in kenya) e.g M-pesa, registration and replacement of sim cards and many others, thus extreme service provision within my outlet. At most all the incentives and earnings of these services business has facilitated its own growth and expansion to date.

My Business

At my outlet i mostly deal in supply of airtime scratch cards and sim cards for all service providers, mineral drinking water, all types of hair both natural weaves and artificial, shampoos, cosmetic chemicals, hair dyes, nail polishes, all types of cutex, body sprays, air refreshers, body lotions, creams skin tones, medicinal creams for skin problems, body powders among others. I also offer registration of Safaricom new lines for clients; replacements of lost lines and transfer of cash both deposits and withdrawals of which I earn a commission from safaricom at the end of every month.
I also deal mildly with the sale of soft drinks mainly coca cola products which are all highly on demand.
I am just opposite a main government institution and schools. My outlet is among the three within this area and is well stocked; supplying basic services with high demand thus is a general customer base. Thus we maximize on the profits from good business. However, high cost of electricity, high rental rate, power failure and other amenities are the most challenges that put me on risk of smooth operation.
I spend Kshs. 15000 to Kshs 20,000 in wages, rent electricity, water, operating licenses and other minor expenses. Thus on average my monthly income can stand at Kshs. 50,000 less in average expenses of Kshs. 20,000 which in actual leave a net profit of Kshs. 30,000.

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much for approving my loan request.I appreciate your work and help you are giving to small enterprises.I intent to purchase a hair drier and steamer machines to add on the two that i have in my saloon. This in turn will ensure prompt and even delivery of the said services to my clients who at most queue to acquire the same services due to inadequacy of the same machines for i had only one each. The income generated will in turn improve my cosmetic stocks. Thanks to you lenders.
