My names are Patrick Akumu Gerald. I was born in 1981, in Kilifi. I am married and with two children. I am a Christian. I reside in Shanzu Mombasa County the coastal region of Kenya. I am not that learned as I just did up to the fourth form of secondary education. I hold a certificate in German language. I am a business person yet in the other hand a circus artist/acrobat. I started my business to cater for my family needs and improve my daily life. The earnings I get on my business are used in the following ways:-
Acquisition of stock, payment of rent, Purchase of food, payment of school fees, payment of electricity and miscellaneous
I own mini - hardware in Shanzu and the services offered in the hardware are as follows:-
Sell of trappers, woods, soft boards, nails, ply woods, river sand
Hiring of building materials like wheelbarrows, carts etc.
The business is not that big but I thank God I manage to get something on a daily basis. My customers prefer my business because I sell most essential things and nobody builds a house without nails, cements or woods. The business is profitable because I have regular clients and the things I sell are always on demand. No many risks in my business as it is a play and pay technique that is you pay for what you want. I make a monthly sale of 50,000/= and my total expenses from rent + electricity + school fees + food + transport + stock amounts to 40,000/= so I at least have a profit of 10,000/= to save.
Thank you so much Zidisha team for approving my loan application. I am very grateful and God bless you so much. My first initiative is after getting my first loan I will be working on adding stock to my business. I will also be working very hard on repaying my first loan very fast so that I reapply for a second loan. I know through Zidisha I will manage and my goals will be achieved. I also have in mind the issue of widening business and even opening a sub branch within Shanzu area thus creation of employment to the youths within the area, that’s if all goes well. Once again thank you so much and have God’s blessings.
