About Me

My name is Fatuma Salimu, I was born in 1986 in Mombasa County. I am a Muslim by religion. I stay in Keroport - Shanzu in Mombasa County. I am a hardworking, obedient and competent. I like teamwork and a very good socialite. I am a businesswoman. I hold a degree from the Islamic University of Uganda and did my primary and secondary education in Kenya. The reason for starting my own business was the rising cases of unemployment in Kenya. To secure employment became very hard thus opting self employment. The earnings I get from my business are taken back to the stock acquisition to my business, food and other needs that may be essential to my everyday life.

My Business

I own a beauty parlour/salon. That offers the following services:-
Hairdressing, beauty therapy, face massage, braiding. My business is at a central point in Mtwapa. Mtwapa is fastest growing town in East and Central Africa and based on the fact that it’s a metropolitan town it is a harbor for tourists. The business is profitable because it is strategically placed in the town centre hence have many clients. Most of my clients are the three generations that is the young, youth and the old. My service are not expensive based on the high cost of living am normally lenient on everybody’s pocket.
The risks in my business are few because I operate in good terms with the authority, that is I hold all licenses to operate my business. I make 1500/= on average on a daily basis. That calls for a sale margin of 45,000/= per month. Total expenses that is rent, food, transport, stock and electricity costs around 33,000/= so a profit of 12,000/= is what I get on average per month.

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much ZIDISHA TEAM for my loan approval God bless you so much. I was really praying for your approval. As a first task, first and foremost I will be working on getting a new dryer for my beauty parlour/salon and other small equipments that may be required. Surely you will have done a good thing to my business and as i continue being a Zidisha member, i will be working on repaying the first loan very fast so that i venture on opening another branch, once i acquire the second one and I know my success will be achieved through Zidisha.
