About Me

my name is Josephine wanjiku karuku. i live in mombasa montwapa am widow of three children. i have two boys and one girl . the firs born is a boy and he is called Lawrence ndungu. he is twenty years old. the second one is called Faith wamboi. and she is fifteen years old. the third he is called Wisdom and he is three years old. the first born had just finished from four this year and the second he is in form three. and the last one he is KGI. I live with them here in mtwapa. my education background is form two drop out had to drop out of school because my family could not able to pay school fees for me and this was because of the financial status of my family it was not stable i started this business because i wanted to earn money so that i can meet the needs of my family since am a widow then the best thing for me was to start business so that i can get money and cutter for my family by paying school fees to my children and feed them.with the earning from my business i do buy things like food for my family paying of school for my children and the rest i add more stocks into my business so that i can increase my daily earnings to me.

My Business

my business is of selling of new and used clothes. used clothes i mean( MITUMBA) and the other clothes is fresh or new clothes from the manufactures or factory. i buy this goods and sell them to the people here in mtwapa. the demand for this goods or services is very high in this area because mtwapa is a high population area.with different types of people living in this town and majority of the people who lives here they earn a daily wage of ksh 500 per day so they don't buy expensive clothes they buy this used clothes from me.And this is why the demand is very high.my customers prefer buying these clothes from me because i sell quality clothes and my prices are very good and reasonable to all.this business is profitable because i buy one banch of used clothes at a fixed rate and when i sell them i get almost double or more that they buying price so it is profitable. this business is very profitable to me because i sell my goods and get my buying price and remain with my profit. my monthly typical cost is ksh 25,000 and my monthly sales revenues is ksh 55,000. in total and substation then this gives me monthly profit of ksh30,000.for now my big plan is to get more money so that when get this money i will use the money to buy or add more stock into my business and use little amount to build a shelter for so that i can sell my clothes in a covered place and by doing this it will reduces the challenges that am facing of my goods getting because of the sunshine.

Loan Proposal

thank you the entire zidisha team for making this happen am proud of you. am going to use this loan to buy new and used clothes mitumba. bales which i will add into my shop and sell to the clients.since all the time i ha bees purchasing or buying and selling of used clothes only. and with this loan now i will buy and sell both which it will raise my income and by this it will increase my daily earning and make e improve my living standard.

    Dear lenders,
We have been following up on Josephine's loan ever since she fell into arrears back in April. Early on she expressed difficulties in using M-PESA, but payments did not improve after staff providing her instructions about how to send her payments with that. Her Volunteer Mentor, Devis Kiti, is from the area and we have to credit him with much of the progress we achieved in making contact with Josephine. In a call with her a few months back, she reported to a staff member some issues with the place she posted her loan application that were under investigation by the authorities. We asked Devis to further investigate, and in a later call with Josephine she stated she had moved to Nairobi and seemed to retract her previous statement.
Devis continued to attempt restoring contact for several months, even while being bed-ridden, recovering from surgery. Sadly, neither he or us have been able to contact Josephine since his last conversation with her in June.
In situation where more delicate issues might be going on, we refrain from posting updates where we don't have enough information, to avoid confusion among lenders or putting borrowers in any position of vulnerability. The email notification you received on the status of this loan has more details about what's next. If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to email us at [email protected].
We look forward to continue working with you.
    Sincerely,

    Analin Saturria McGregor

    Hello Josephine Karuku,
You said, "I am proud of you. am going to use this loan to buy new and used clothes mitumba." That was when you got the money. Then you never made a single payment.

I would be proud of you for contacting your lenders who entrusted you with a loan based entirely on faith.
    Thank you.
    Marvin
