MY BUSINESS IS BUYING SELLING AND OF CEREALS

My business entails a cereals shop at the shopping center. I sell all sort of cereals that range from maize, beans, wheat and other dry grains.

My business is located at Maseno trading center, which is five kilometers from subukia town toward lower Subukia trading center, my business include buying and selling of cereals and farming as a small scale farming at Maseno trading center. I started my business in year 2001. My business grows up to a level of transporting cereals to main town such as Subukia town, my business is located in Maseno trading center where I have a store, i am the manager of the business because the business I the one who own the business. The business Is located at a strategic position because it is located on the entrance to the Maseno trading center,also there is high production of all cereals, thus making me to attract more farmers also there is less competition for business offering the same business thus making the business profitable, also being a small scale farmer I am known by many farmer in our area. My stock is worthy ksh 90000, but I continue to buy more cereals gradually, but during this harvesting season. I am expecting to buy more because it is harvesting period, but the main challenge facing my business is lack of money as to fulfill my goal to create employment and to transport my cereals to other main town like subukia and Nakuru.
My short term goal is to crate employment among people whose work is to transport cereals from the farm to my store, my long term goal is to transport cereal toi other main town such as Subukia, where I am also have a ready market. My business is licensed under the county council of Subukia municipality to make it legal. My typical monthly cost is khs 90000, sale revenue is around ksh 50000 and profit is above 40000 but I am planning to earning more from the business.

My Business

I live in Maseno shopping center which is five kilometers from subukia town toward lower Subukia trading center. I live in plot number 190. I am married living with my wife and my two lovely children at the shopping center where I also do operate my business. One of my kids is in school. I started a kiosk at 2007 at the shopping center which has grown into a retail shop. This is where we obtain our basic needs and that of the family. I also rely on this business of cereals for the school fees of my kid. We assist each other me and my wife at the store when he is not at work. I have also integrated my retail shop with a green grocery where I sell vegetables and green food at the shop. This year the business has been very ok and the shop has grown well. I intend to improve the status of my business from the loan that I will get from Zidisha organization. During the last three years the area has had a very good production in the agricultural sector,
This had a great impact on the business as most business in the area usually relies on the farms. My business is called Chini Ya Mwamba store in maseno trading center, I was born in lower subukia,Kianogo village Nakuru district in riftvalley, I later migrated to upper subukia and started farming together with my wife, I have undergone primary and secondary school. I started my business of cereals in buying and selling of cereals small quatity in Maseno trading center and it environment with my family in plot no 190.

I would like to use this loan to build a more spacious store for storing my grains. Storage in this business of cereals is key and without a good and spacious store, one becomes outdone by the other competitors in the business. It is therefore that I would like to use the loan to utilize this opportunity of acquiring a store and not only an ordinary store but a modern one.
