About Me

my name is miriam muthoni kimani,i live in nyakinyua villange in kiptagwanyi location ,gilgil constituency, nakuru county.i am a mother of 8 children, 5 are grounup and two are in secondary school and one in primary school std 7.i was born in nanyuki with two parent mother and father.i was born in 1950.at that time girl child education was not a something that parent take very serious, so i reach in std 2 thus making me only to know how to write only my name.i was married in 1967 very young and this give my parent happy because of the dowry thy get.we migrate to kiptagwanyi with my husband to his parent and started our life there.but my husband pass away in 1997 leaving me with 8 children to care but because we were already got 1 dairy cow which help me very much adding to the farm income

My Business

in my business which is dairy farming i got 1 cow which produce twenty litre of milk daily,i sell this milk to a company called brook side which pay after a month or monthly.this dairy cow have helped me to get my children a good education and also healthy.also when the cow get calf if it is a bull i sell it and sometime if there is problem in my home i sell female as it got demand and also high in price.i have a small female calf which is about a year and i hope not to sell it because i see it as a good breed.milk business is very profitable in this area and the demand of milk is high.the main challenge is drought,high cost of veterinary drugs.outbreak of diseases.

thank you zidisha and all lenders for approving my request to join zidisha,i have been waiting patiently for this opportunity,in this first loan i want to add to the money i have to introduce a new business of buying and selling cereal as this is a better time in this area as it is harvest time in this area,also i will add other kind of cereal like millet, sorgum and other cosumed cereal for my customer who have been asking why i dont sell this kind of cereal.thanks
