silus githiri iraya is my name.i was born in 1962 at a place called kiambu district near Nairobi, i was born in a family of 9 children being the old one in the family i live in kiptagwanyi muriricua village in kiptagwanyi.i join primary education in this area in 1969. i didn't complete primary education because my family was poor and being the old one, my family expected me also to help ,so when i reach std six i, i drop from school and employed by a neighbor to look after her cattle and milking those cow manually.i keep on doing that for about 8 years and i was been payed 30ksh per month in that time.the money help me because i was saving and using some for basic need like cloth. in 1975 i quit that job and move to nairobi to start business. the business go well and get the money which i was able to buy this land that i have even today and which my family of seven are staying till today.the earning from this business help me to pay for my children school fees and give them basic needs

My Business

my business entail in dairy farming in the area,i started this business as it is the one i am qualify in.the business is profitable at this time not like earlier when there was no where to sell milk, now because of this company called brook side , i get a good return in the end of every month,i sell 10 kilo of milk every day to this company because i have two cow which produce this milk.i hope if zidisha grant me this loan i will be able to add another dairy cow and a good breed that will produce about 10 kilo a day so that if i add the one i have i will be able to give my children a good education and also a good life. the main challenge is high price of feed, high cost of veterinary treatment .sometime drought in this area

Loan Proposal

thank you zidisha and lenders for giving me this golden opportunity to borrow from this organization,this being my first loan in this platform,i will buy a small bull worth 10,000 and feed it with food that will make it grow faster so that i can sell it after about 5 month to the people who own butchery,in that i will be able to get profits and able to repay in time and in full.and because the money is not enough, i will add from my pocket the 2000 as this is a start and i hope in future i will get more than this.thanks
