my name is priscillah wangari mwangi, i am a mother of four children who are schooling in boombo primary school and 1 in muriricua secondary school. i was born in 1976 in Nairobi city where my father was employed by government in the land department . i started my education in hill primary school in Nairobi upper hill in 1982 and completed in 1990.in 1991 my pared migrate to kiptagwanyi because my father retire from his job and because thy were having a shamba in this area, we moved there where i join secondary education, but before completing secondary education , i became pregnant and i leave school and get married to a teacher who pass away later in 2009. but before he pass away we were able to acquire land where we built our home where i stay till now and also a posho mill
my business entail in maize milling , i have a posho mill which i use to do the flour of all kind of cereal milling.i started this business in 2005 after my husband and i agree that i have to look for what i can do to support our family, and he bought this diesel machine.i started this job and became very social with people around here.and because of good relationship with people around i was able to join some group in the area,so there were no difficulty when my husband pass away because from then i was able to get electricity and buy a motor to make my work easier .the business is profitable as in where i am located ,there is no other posho mill , so i take that advantage. the main challenge is high cost of electricity, poor road in this area like now it is very dusty, sometime breakdown of my machine and also high cost of spare part.
thank you zidisha organization. in this my first loan i want first to repair my posho mill because it have been breaking down now and then thus making my customers unsatisfied by my service and i have many customers who need most my service.the lest of money i will add cereal so that i can able to sell to my customers maize flour and also wheat flour which is in a high demand in this area as it is planting season and many people don't have maize in their home,so some prefer it is economical to use wheat flour instead. thanks
