About Me

My name is Elizabeth wanjiru gikonyo I was born in 1961 at kiambu in Kiambu County in pre independent Kenya I joined ndarugu primary school which was very far away from my home. I could not go far with my education due to lack of school fees. I want up to standard 5 since then I moved and was employed as a casual laborer In various farms in western Kenya until with my little savings I was able to purchase a piece of land in gitare scheme in gilgil where I moved and settled with my immediate family I am married and blessed with 6 children who are all grownups.

My Business

My daily business is farming. I own a piece of land in Gitare scheme which is in the outskirts of gilgil town. I grow green vegetables, maize, beans, castor seeds, etc apart from growing crops I also keep dairy cattle’s which I currently have 15 heads that produces milk which i sell and for my own domestic consumption. I deal with this kind of farming when I realized there is great demand of these commodities in the near by town of gilgil and beyond. I sell my crops at farm gate price to retailers from Gilgil and Nairobi. For the milk I sell to olkarou dairies who normally correct it outside my farm every morning I receive the payments at the end of the month I usually get ksh 40000 after deducting my overheads I am left with ksh 20000. Buyers prefer my farm produce because they are of high quality since I have been doing this for the rest of my life, I have enough skills to produce the same the only challenge I face is luck a modern spraying machine for crop spraying my produce when growing in the farm. Also luck of a cooler to preserve my milk before buyers arrive to collect it. With zidisha platform I will be able to overcome this challenge and hence improve my living standard.

Loan Proposal

thanks to all my lenders for your first loan it really helped me in my farming activities. in this second loan i will buy a high yield milking cow to increase and boost my milk production. this will increase my revenue per month of which i will again use it to plant more fast growing crops eg capsicum, tomatoes asparagus. kales etc . by so doing i will get good profits to support my commercial activities. God bless you.

    Dear Lenders and the management,
This morning I had spoken to Elizabeth Gikonyo regarding the Zidisha loan arrears of which she has taken couple of days, but still she told me that it is because of problems that she has been going through of which i intervened her that she can always make repayments even as little as 100 to 200 gradually and finally she will make it of which she agreed with my idea and she as agreed to adopt it as from next week.

    Dear Zidisha fraternity,
I have spoken with Elizabeth Gikonyo regarding her Zidisha loan arrears and her decreasing percentage and she informed me that her farming dropped this time round where her maize cops were destroyed by unknown disease and she did not make good production and therefore she run in a loss. Elizabeth has agreed with me that she is working hard to resume repaying of her loans next week if all goes well. Wishing her all the best.

    Dear lenders and team management,
I have spoken to Elizabeth Gikonyo on phone today as it usual to confirm as she promised to clear her zidisha loan and I was so shocked that she was corned the money by the thugs last week as she had withdrawn the money and part of the money she was to repay the loan and the other for her customers. She has requested to be given gain sometime to recover the lost money as the has inconvenienced her business and also her business colleagues and customers too.

Elizabeth she is now sorry for being in arrears this long but she is trying possible to resume soon.

    Regards
    Vincent VM kenya

    Dear Zidisha Fraternity,
I have long talk over the phone this evening to Elizabeth Gikonyo who has zidisha loan arrears since March although she had told me that she had financial problems whereby I had advised her to make a reschedule. Elizabeth all this long since she agreed to make reschedule she did not make and therefore her percentage has been decreased to 27% of which she cannot qulifity for a bigger loan next rouend once she finished repaying her loan.
Elizabeth has also promised me that she will be making a repayment tomorrow so that she can get back on track after long time due financial problems and business not getting on well.
Thank you in advance and wish you all best.
    Regards

I have managed to talk to Elizabeth Gikonyo this evening regarding her zidisha loan arrears as she promised last time that she was to make reschedule since was had a financial strain as she has a college student who was out of school fees, she has again confirmed to me that she will be working out to make a reschedule this Friday as the moment she is very busy to make strategies on how she can improve her business and the interest that can enable her resume the repayment.
I advised Elizabeth if she cannot make it herself to reschedule she can inform me so that I can do it for her.

I have managed this afternoon to speak to Elizabeth Gikonyo concerning her zidisha loan arrears and she explained to me that she had financial due to that she has a student in the college and the fees was a problem to raise and therefore that is why she is behind repaying the loan, I have advised her to login to her zidisha account and make a repayment schedule of when she is likely to start repaying instead of abandoning her repaying without any updates.

Elizabeth requested her lenders that she is sorry and the money you lender to her assisted her very much and therefore she wants to remain illegible for a bigger loans in future.

Dear lenders i am uniquely privileged to join zidisha many thanks and blessings to the team. i now have a chance to buy high yield seeds and fertilizer to grow my crops because its planting season here in kenya. this will increase the amount of harvest per every acre of land i cultivate for increased profit. i will also construct i a traditional charcoal cooler to preserve my milk from going into waste during hot season. you are just but wonderful people thank you very much and God bless you all.
