About Me

I am 23 years old a student at kisii university college studying commerce and business. I joined campus in the year 2010 and know i am in fouth year, determined to do my level best and graduate next year 2014. I completed my kcse certificate in the year 2009 in the local district school called litein boys high school. I passed very well and scored a good grade of B+ and this enabled me to secure a commerce course in university. My parents live in a village called Kapsimbeywo, Keringet Division Kuresoi South in Nakurru county. They are peasant farmers and i am proud of their hardworking which see me and my other young siblings in school. I am a first born son of seven. Currently being a student i am an entrepreneur too, running a small income generating project to help my parents pay school fees.

My Business

I am operating farming business activity at our local village where i grow potatoes and sell them on harvesting to local markets and community members. I started this farming activity 10 months ago when i realised the potentiality of the business. My parents gave me 1/2 acre piece of land when i requested them to support me in taping this opportunity. The cost of production goes upto ksh 15000 which i got them from friends and well relatives. The maturity period of this potatoes crops takes exactly three months upon when uprooted i sell to local markets. The total output of this piece of land goes to upto 40 sags and each sag cost ksh 4500 in local markets. I get seasonal laborers from local people whom i pay them in hourly rate. The challenge i am facing is market fluctuating price and climatic change which adversely affect the production. Another main challenge is accessibility of funds to run this project. If get help and financial support i will expand the farming business to further increasing the piece of land to more acres.

Loan Proposal

Thanks zidisha for activating my loan profile. I am pleased to have accepted my application. I will use the loan to upgrade my farming business to further extending my farm. I will buy farm inputs worth ksh7000 and the rest use to employ temporary workers and pay them in time rate basis. I will be updating you always on the progress of our business to see we get to success. I promise and accept this is a loan and i will repay on time and also in full. I welcome your support. Thanks and God Bless you.

I would like to reschedule my loan because of the following reasons.First I have invested total loan awarded in my venture and it will take a couple of months to yield back the profits i anticipate. So the amount am required to pay per week is so enormous that given the conditions here with me,am not able to bear with.Thank you as i put forward my case and expect positive feedback.

i will be commiting all of the amount you have lend me to buying of maize grains in which i will resale them as soon as the price rise.the rise in price may take a month.its therefore my request that you accept my rescheduled loan repayment because am able to raise that amount weekly, and the chances of i defaulting is minimal.as soon as i resale with a profit i will repay them in full.thankyou

hallo zidisha team, what happens to the credits limit,at first my next credit limit was 25000 bt now you have reduced to 8378 of which it is too minimal.iam so much dissappointed since this amount would not make much difference as far as my project is concerned.i was to expand my potato farm to 5acres having in my mind that since i will be loaned 25000,i wiil commit this one to fertilizers.it is my humble request that could please reinstate me to my initial credit limit of which it will make my plans to go through.

Hi Vincent, the plants look great. I grow potatoes myself (on a much smaller scale, just for my own family). Would love to see some photos when you harvest if it isn't too much trouble.
