About Me

Dear Lenders , my name is maryann nyobaki I come from Nakuru . I have been living in this town for the last five years. I come from a family ofsix kids. That is two boys and three girls. I have a diploma in B.A. having graduated from the rift valley institute . Iam the 4th born in our family of 6 children went to school at annester secondary there after joined rift valley training institute and did my diploma in business management my parents struggled to rais us up especially when we reached high school it is from the harsh realities of my child hood that I learnt the skills of entrepreneurship this is because at times my parents made some liquid soap that we were sent to sell when schools were closed so that we could raise our school fees despite as struggling that much we still found ourselves in and out of school this was due to school fees areas. it is this hard times that made me start thing about having an alternative source of income when I finished school. After completion I looked for employment with no avail life become harder than expected and most of the time when I went looking for a job most bosses wanted sexual favour from me so that I could get employment, having raised from a Christian family I could not allow such demands from anybody since I believed my papers and credentials talked much to me than dirtying my self. After all options were exhausted and never saw myI am into full time running of my business. I started my business two year’s age, initially I was providing typing and printing services, but later I have added a cyber café to attract more customers to my business. I enjoy doing business, indeed my first business I undertook when I was in class eight. Since then I have engaged into business all along. From the revenue accrued from the business,. I have been able to purchase , a motor cycle to help in my business transport, further am able to educate my brother , by paying school fees. Am also able to support myself using the proceeds from my business. I have been making profit while running this business. Any loan advanced to me, will be in good hands, since I will be able to repay it using the profits from the business.self getting employed I then borrowed some small capital from my parents and started a small cyber shop it is a cyber that I started with one computer and a small printer my parents could only afford it was tough during the first days in business but as they say success is for the strong and courageous I waited patiently and today I have 3 computer and a good printer since that it is from this business that I am able to pay may bill and at least sustain my life and also help my parents. In business I find some challenges like at times all the bills come at the same time and you are UN able to clear them at once this makes you look for another option like now I wish to expand my business but cant find funds from local institutions since the want equilaterals which I don’t have this becomes hard for small business enterprises to grow

My Business

The business am running is a cyber cafe. I run this business on my own though ones in a while I hire some one to assist me when I have many customers, like weekends and during the school holidays. My services range but mainly I specialize in cyber café service , printing , and research editing. Nakuru town is an educational town , cyber café services are in big demand hence my business attracts many customers .
My computer machines are relatively faster and the room is spacious hence customers prefer my work station. A Cyber cafes is a profitable business venture judging from what my business has been doing. i intend to use the profits from the business to pay the loan I will receive from your organization.
The risks in this business are not very many , but the main ones are , the frequent black outs which the town has been experiencing . the second risk is the breakdown of machines , I need to get a specialized technician to repair them.
My monthly costs is as follows , on a typical month , the sales are about Ksh. 35,000 , after paying my bills which is about Ksh. 15,000 am left with about Ksh. 20,000. This is usually the case when it is a busy month.
