About Me

Thank you Zidisha family for giving me a chance to get funds to boost my business.
My name is Pauline Muthoni Kimani a single lady in her early thirties with four kids two boys and four girls and I give praise to God for that.
I went to school in Kasarani for my early childhood school and later to mugoiri secondary school for my o levels. unfortunately due to lack of money my parents were not able to take me to college.
I live Kitengela town which is a few kilometres from the capital city Nairobi with my kids and this is where I operate a small salon that offers hair solutions and beauty services.
I started this business because I had a passion for beauty and taught myself to do everyrthing and within no time I had perfected the art and I opened the salon. Another reason was to provide for my family since I have to provide solely for their every need.
The income I get from my salon activities I use it to buy salon essentials like relaxers, hair food, powders,hair extensions, repair salon equipments which break sometimes, add equipments and any other need as it may arise.
I am seeking zidisha loan to expand my salon business and create more avenues to generate more income by adding more dryiers, brow dryiers, hot combs, add hair cut services known as Kinyozi, add manicure and pedicure services, more chairs, more mirrors, repaint walls.
By doing this my current income from the business will greatly increase.

My Business

I am currently running a saloon that offers beauty services. The income I get from the services I offer will allow me to be able to repay the zidisha loans if extended to me. When I add more services, more equipments, change the whole outlook of the salon room that will translate to more income and therefore more ability to repay the loan as well as have a chance to improve my lifestyle.
Since my business is located in Kitengela and the area is in kajiado county a very hot and dusty place, people tend to visit the saloon frequently due to dust and excessive sweat. Therefore the demand for the services is at all times high. With the required and enough equipments and an appealing atmosphere for the clients it is easier to make more money the more reason for me extending my request for zidisha funding.
I operate the business in a street with high traffic and offer competitive prices than those of my competitors. Also my work speaks for itself so I am able to maintain my clientele as well as referrals from my ever satisfied customers. However the risks include stiff competition due to too many salons along the street that I operate.
