I have a family of two boys all of whom are in standard five and top class.I am a college graduate and i have worked as a fire fighter in Kenya Navy and Iraq.I started this business of ornaments due to demand and Nakuru being one of the most tourist attraction centers, this business looked more viable and profitable.Secondly, this type of business has given me the exposure of interacting with tourists and currently iam in the process of initiating this business in the US with a friend we worked with in Iraq.Well, i feel advantaged due to my competitive edge in selling this products right inside the town. An addition of more funding means expansion of this bushiness and more income.
The money being requested therefore will be used in adding more stock on the yet not available products.
This business is all about curios and ornaments( This includes human/animal features, bracelets, necklaces). There is demand due to tourist attractions and as well local customers who buy from me to go and supply elsewhere. Our customers prefer my stall due to availability of goods , quality services, pricing and promotion strategies that we have developed of late using photos, pamphlets and post cards as well as word of mouth. This has given us a competitive edge over others.
In any business there are challenges.Such challenges can be prices, poor promotion strategies, marketing and as well as low turn out of tourists now that we are focusing on this. However, risks being averse, as a prudent business man for years and the experience that i have in this business we are trying at all times to make sure that our sales promotions is all above par to compete with the existing markets.
The loan will be used in adding more stock to the already existing stock. I intend to purchase products such as human /animal figures that are really on demand by international tourists.I have also an order for local baskets in Sweden, so this money will really add value in my business. The experience i have in this business is that goods and services must go hand in hand to make sure that business is meeting the clients needs/demands.This will develop trust and confidence in my clients hence a steady business growth and income. This will enhance donor relations as well because i will be able to repay the loan and hence continue sustainably.
