About Me

We are a family of 8 that has been raised from a small and poor background I am the third born in the family. I had passed through the primary education being one of them. First i did my primary education in year 2003 but in 2004 i had to repeat class seven to pave way for my elder brother because they were in high school and our dad could not afford to pay for the school fees. So in the year 2005 i did again my class final exam and later on 2006 i joined secondary school. We had been passing a hard time because its only dad who used to pay for our school fees and providing for our daily bread. Through my four year course i have passed a tough time of schooling as i had been sent home time to time due to school fees, when i stay at home i stay for a longer period before i embark to school. I struggle with hardship that let me go to work for a day or two in order to get something to add on what dad could have afford. When i completed my form four course in the year 2009, i could not go for further studies because there were still my younger brother who were in school. The other who had finished were still jobless as they had not gone for further studies yet no experience. They were just doing the small jobs in the streets that were not worthy paying. It could just help them and the family for daily bread as our dad was struggling for the other children in school. In the year 2011 in July my dad died of high blood pressure a disease that had been affecting him for so long. After that hard and difficult moment its when i and my dear brothers had to open our minds because the ball was on us, to provide everything for the entire family. Our mother is still with us but also she cannot work as she is suffering from Ulcers a disease that has left her to be a burden to us because time to time she complains for pains and stomach problems. Thereby i started to think beyond my strides us i had no any option for the family to survive. So i decided to ask for a loan from the stated company. I started a cybercafe business in Mtwapa.

My Business

My business basically deals with providing services to clients as am operating a cyber cafe. I serve clients/customers for services like photocopying, typing/printing, internet surfing, designing and so on. I started this business because first i had gone round the area when i was doing my business research and found out that there is one area that was so busy and most of the customers were moving for a longer distance looking for the services. So having seen that i got the interest and then started the business. My customers mostly like and prefer my business because first thing i have brought it near them and they really like my services that i offer to them. The way i handle them is not like what they are served when they reach to other businesses. Because i have experience now in my job they even trust me with the work that i give them, and even the assistance that i give to them when one needs am ready and willing to assist there and then with a positive heart. So they like my services. My business has a monthly costs of paying the internet charges to the internet providers of ksh. 6,000 per month, rent payment of ksh.5,000 per month, there are costs for maintenance charges of the computer machines that is done after every two months to make it faster in order to serve my customers well and efficiently. Also a cost of buying photocopying papers. Last year i was getting good sales and good profits that were enabling me to meet and pay all expenses and remain with a good profit, but now met a big challenge because my printer is not working hence not in use, my computer machines have reduced and i can see customers needs the services. I would be glad when i am given the chance of getting this loan then i would be in a position to expand my business. I would by a photo printer because i have realized that many customers ask me for a photo printer where i can do services like passport, printing of photos and so on. Also i would buy a digital camera whereby i will use for the passport and photo printing. Also i would expand my business to have a small bookshop because i can see there is a higher demand for this service and many customers are asking for this as they are used to walk for longer distance to get these services. Having done this all then i will be in a good position to for my business and it will grow faster and big. Also i will be in a good position to continue help my brothers to continue with their schooling because they are still in school. Therefore again i wish to expand this business to some areas where there is good demand for the same. This is about my business.

Loan Proposal

The loan will be used to buy a photo printer as i had indicated earlier that i will use to print passport sizes and photos, again the loan will be used to buy a computer so that i can increase it in my business.
Also it will be used to buy a digital camera that will be used in the business to take photos and passport sizes, The loan again will be used to open a small bookshop in my business so that more customers will have good service and reach them in good time.

I am not in a position to repay the stated amount as my business has gone down hence could not meet the expenses such as rent, electricity bill and at the same repay the loan.
In addition for the above the business environment in my village has changed as am operating a cyber cafe and the current economy has been a bigger challenge in regard to my business.
But i am working hard to be able to meet my loan repayment obligation.
Thank you for your support and understanding.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that the repayment of 13.92 USD (1,200 KES) posted on August, 12 in the repayment schedule of Mr Ngala was entered by mistake. This means that, upon removal of the transaction, the amount that had been credited to your lender account will be reversed and will reduce your available balances accordingly.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please, let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best regards,

    Roberta

This is because of the situation i have now as i am in college and i pay for my fees every month as am a part time student. This has been a challenge to me that's why i experience the late payments of my due loan. With my last plans i thought i would get assistance from family members but all in vain. To be sincere i really appreciate your team for the loan as it opened the door to my success. I will clear the loan before the due date of repayment time because at first after reading the terms and conditions before application i got interested to. Zidisha is a better place to be as i have seen since the day i came to know this organization. Please lender and the team at large i again wish to apologies for the delay for the months but i want to assure that i will settle the due in time because my big wih is to keep on working with your team for the kind and help you focus on, to improve and promote the lives of many. My plans is to apply for another loan once i clear my due loan. Thank you in advance,

    Dear lenders,

Jacob has been in touch with us over the last couple of months regarding his loan repayments and how fragmented his payments have been lately. He's been covering high school fees for a number of months now; these have posed a significant financial burden for him to make his loan payments on time. The cost of education in developing countries, especially technical and superior studies, can be downright prohibitive, and young students often work long hours in several jobs to cover their tuition and school related expenses.
Jacob has shown great responsibility in addressing his payment responsibilities and has always been very responsive to our attempts to communicate with him. As you may have noticed, he resumed repayments this week. He continues to be in a position where he is not as comfortable financially but he remains committed to catching up on his repayments - he sure is on the right track.

    Thank you for supporting Jacob!

    Sincerely,

    Analin Saturria McGregor
