About Me

I am happy to join zidisha community inorder to build myself economically. I live in naivasha town which to many kenyans is known for the wrong reasons. Nevertheless, I am a form four leaver and could not get a white collar job after finishing school. I was employed to do casual jobs like car wash attendant, fuel pump attendant at a petrol station and finally a bar waiter. The jobs were very stressful and thats why I decided to start small on my own. I started by rearing indegeneous chicken and selling eggs to the walk in customers. The eggs are in demand as most customers today are cautious about their health and fear diseases associated with hybrid eggs. I buy chicken feed from my earnings whose price has really skyrocketed since I started and keep the rest for my cash stream in order to sustain my business.

My Business

As I have stated, my business revolves around keeping indegeneous chicken and selling eggs to my customers. I also sell manure and the chicken for meat when they are old and no longer producing eggs. There is a very high demand for such eggs in my neighbourhood as most customers prefer taking them as they do not have health effects compared to the hybrid ones. Their meat is also delicious and manure good for growing vegetables. The business is profitable as I am able to buy feed and retain some money for my upkeep. Customers prefer my business as to competition as I serve them on first come basis. The only risk my business faces are communicable diseases. Currently, am keeping twenty birds and sell eggs at fifteen shillings each. I earn around nine thousand shilling monthly, spend two thosand on feed and keep the rest.

Loan Proposal

the loan will help in buying more birds in the rate of ksh 250/= per bird, i will purchase 15 birds and use the rest of the money to buy food for them, by feeding them well each bird can lay 3 eggs per week this will ensure that i can sell at-list 3 trays per week that goes for ksh300/= per tray this will ensure my business grows.
