About Me

My name is Samuel Ndungu Kinyanjui. I am a father of six. I live at bahati near the centre. My elder daughter is in form four while the last son is only 3 years old. The other four are in the primary school.

My Business

I deal with shoe business where I buy shoe accessories such as shoe soles, laces, polish and other parts. I also buy and sell new and old shoes as a retailer. I mend the old torn ones for those who need them mended. For new shoes the wholesale price depends on the type of shoes and the retailing price depend on the price at whole sale. On average, I make about Ksh 15000 per month which I use to pay the rent (Ksh 1500) for the room where I do business. I would wish to expand my business by adding more stock of the new shoes so that I can make more money. This is especially during the December season because the Kenyans buy new clothes and shoes during Christmas. If I could have a good stock, I expect to sell so much. I would also wish to stock the shop with the school shoes which do well during the new year as most of the students buy especially those joining other schools like form one. I also sell school bags which do well at the beginning of the year.

Loan Proposal

this loan will help me to boost my business and buy 1 cow for milk.

I had a lot of problems. My business was not going well and the other reason I had a lot of problems with daughter. She broke into my bedroom and left with my money and without anything. I was given 10,000 by my friend to renew my job. I was not able to pay and the economy was very poor, but now we are starting to make it somehow. I will start to pay by September. Thanks for being patient for me.

    Dear lenders,

Hello, my name is Traci Yoshiyama, Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Manager. I am currently residing in Mugaa, visiting Zidisha borrowers in nearby villages. I payed a visit to Samuel Ndungu in Bahati today. He apologizes for not being able to make his monthly repayments for the past several months. He has informed me his eldest daughter has stolen a large sum of his money and cannot be found. This family situation has caused a great financial challenge for Mr. Ndungu, in both his life and his business. With no money, he has been unable to restock his shoe store. Luckily, last week Mr. Ndungu was given money from a close friend to restock his store. With this new start, he has rescheduled his loan installments and will start repaying in September. He asks that his lenders understand his situation and he thanks everyone for their patience.

my daughter completed her form four exams and now i am an excited father. however, i know that this call for more money to take her to college or start her off on something as she awaits her results. it means that i have to work extra hard to meet this obligation.i hope the zidisha loan will enable me to expand my businness to meet this obligation especially if i can get more stock to be able to meet the demand for chrismass season. during this season, kenyans buy new outfits and shoes as they celebrate.
