About Me

I am a young lady of 41 years and a mother of three beautiful girls and a boy. I am from Kpando in the Volta Region of Ghana. I attended both my primary and senior secondary school education in my hometown. Thereafter, I proceeded to St. Teresa's Teacher Training in Hohoe. I taught for about a decade and apply for study leave into the University. I graduated in 2009. Owing to the inadequacy of my salary, I decided to add buying and sale of secondhand clothing as my second source of income. All my children have very high expectations; the three girls want to become lawyers whilst the boy aspires to become an engineer.
There are so many cultural practices where I live. The most interesting among them is 'Homowo'. It is a festival of thanksgiving to the gods for a bumper harvest.

My Business

I buy and sell secondhand clothing. This is in high demand because it is within the affordability of all income brackets because its price is low compared to those from boutiques. Due to my small capital outlay, I normally go in for selection of the best few clothes that my capital can afford. I have ready customers who take delight in my selection of the clothing, hence my turnover is very good. I normally make between 25 to 30% of my capital as profit. I use part for the children's school fees and reinvest the rest to grow the business.

Loan Proposal

I wish to apply for a loan of 392gh cedis. As a second hand clothe seller sometimes some customers do look for a place to sit and I have no chair in my shop.I shall therefore use this 392gh cedis which is about $96 to acquire some plastic chairs in my shop for the comfort of my customers.
The unit cost of a plastic chair is $32.Hence I shall be able to afford three chairs in my shop. This shall go a long way to reduce anxiety in my customers,it will calm them down for business. This shall in no small way impact positively on my profit eventually. However, I cannot quantify the impact for now.
