About Me

My name is Irene Honu and I'm from Dzodze in the Volta Region of Ghana, West Africa. I am a SHS graduate of Jim Bourton Memorial SHS, Logba. I offered home economics with option in catering. After graduating from School, I told myself that I was going to do business on my own so started cooking rice and selling by the roadside since I offered catering in school. I am a mother of two children. I love cooking and I want to become the best chef in the future with the biggest restaurant in Ghana.

My Business

I am a cook and also runs my own food joint. I started cooking right after school and selling by the roadside. Now I have been able to acquire a land and I want to start a restaurant there. My love for cooking has brought me into this job and I'm ready to go the extra mile just to be the best as cooking is my hobby, my proffession and my passion. I am highly determined to be the best chef with the best restaurants in Ghana.

Loan Proposal

I want to use the loan to buy a bag of rice and beans which I will use in cooking and sell in my food joint. Customers are on high demand for my waakye(local rice and beans in Ghana), therefore there is the need for me to increase the amount of food that I cook. This loan will help me achieve this.

Income Source

Since I deal in food business, we are considered in Ghana as essential service providers so we are still operating. I will repay this loan from the sales I generate from selling the food to my customers.

    I went to take care of my sick mum in the village for sometime that's why it's like my phone is off cos there's no electricity there we used to travel to the nearby town before we can charge our phones. I'm now back because she's a bit OK but my employee messed up with my business big time I'm now putting myself together so I will start paying the loan soon. Sorry for the inconvenience

    Inhave received an amount of ghc1489 and I will use it to buy more cooking utensils especially bigger ones as i have increased the amount of food I prepare on daily basis and also added some menus like Jollof, plain rice, and fried rice.     I used the money to buy more rice foe my rice cooking and sales business. This has helped me increase the amount of food I prepare on daily basis due to this I'm even looking for a place to start a mini canteen instead of the food joint i have now.

    I have received the loan amount of GHC757 and i will use it to buy some rice and Stew Ingredients for my food business. This will increase my sales and also satisfy my customers who always gets disappointed because the food gets finished early due to the small amount of food I used to prepare. Thanks to my lenders for the loan

    I will use the loan to buy more rice and Stew Ingredients so I can cook more food for my customers especially now that school has resume. This will increase my sales and help me pay deposit for the canteen I want to start and move from my food joint to the canteen sooner or later and also use the rest in paying the loan.     I used the loan i tokm last time to buy some more rice to increase the quantity of food I prepare for my customers every day. This has increased my daily sales as well. Im very happy. Now i have started working on a container for my canteen and restaurant.
