About Me

I was born in 1973, in a small town of Luanshya, one of the mining towns in Zambia,. I'm the first born in the family of six. I did my primarily and secondary school in Kitwe, and i Obtained a Full grade Twelve Certificate. I lost my father at the time i was accepted to go to the university. So, since my father had died, it wasn't easy to raise money for the university as my mother was just a full time house wife at a time. I had great passion for school, so i decided to do a part time job as a security guard at a Zambian only power producing company ZESCO. i was going to school in the morning from 8 am up to 5 pm. And 6 pm i went for work unto the following morning. i did this job for 2 yrs until i finished a course in Accounting Technician Diploma. Graduated with flying colors. By then i had raised money to look after my mother and my young brother and 4 sisters. After completing the course, i applied for a job in the mines as an Accounts Clerk.

My Business

I was so much into business. One day, i attended a workshop on Entrepreneurship and from that day, my dream was to form my own company. In 2009, i registered my company under the name Mpaks Enterprises Ltd. This time, i was still in Employment. So, i was working long hours in order to have some time for my company. i started with General Supplies, selling Electrical and Hardware. I was promoted at my work place. so i had less time to concentrate on my company. Until, when i finally when my contract ended in 2013, So, since then i have struggled to build my company. In 2014, i incorporated welding and selling of cement blocks as i had seen a demand in Blocks because there where to many people doing a lot of constructions in the area. Right now am able to sell at list 10 window flames and 10 door flames per week. And now i can send my children top school. Even if am not in full time employment, but i can send my kids to school. Buy some necessary things at home. And put of the money i want to start a transport business which i have now introduced apart from the supplying and the welding business. My future plan, is to start saving an be able to buy atlist a truck every year. I know i can do it because the sky is the limit.

Loan Proposal

I want to buy a grinder for my welding business which cost about $ 150. The grinder which i was using unfortunately was cooked due to some load shedding or power cuts. Once i acquire this machine it will definitely help me and my customers who want to do a lot of cutting. Once this grinder is purchased, it can raise more than $ 250 before i replace it with a new one.

I would like to inform my lenders that i didn't manage yesterday sunday the 18th of November, to process my repayment because the day was declared a National Day of Prayer and Fasting. So almost all the businesses where asked to take leave and observe this important Day. Therefore, my repayment will be late by a day. Today i will proceed as today its business as usual

Moving out from the dependency on copper. The reduced price of cement from ZMW 89 which is $ 7.41 to the new price now at ZMW 51 which is $ 4.25.

The skyrocketing of our Zambian currency against other convertible currencies has got a negative impact on most businesses in Zambia. Most prices for commodities have increased. But the good news is that the government is putting up measures to correct the situation. Like in the construction industry, the coming in of Dangote Cement in Zambia, the price of cement has drastically reduced from ZMW 89 to ZMW 51 today. And there is massive constructions going on on community level and national level which translates into booming of business for our welding business. Although the country is passing through some rough time due to loadshedding, but it has not affected the demand of building materials including door frames, window frames and other materials we weld for construction. The government has identified construction, agriculture, fish farming as best substitute on the dependency of copper.

I would like to take this rare opportunity to thank my lenders most sincerely for giving me the loan for me to buy the ANGLE GRINDER MACHINE. And I'm really grateful to my friend Ruth Zozi and the entire Zidisha family members for granting me this opportunity to be part of this winning team. This is going to help my business and improve my profit margins. Am planning to expand my Welding workshop so that i can increase the number of welding machines to 2 and probaly increase the number of grinders too. This way, i will have a full working workshop.
