About Me

My name is Alex Agufa Magomere, a resident of Kabete Estate in Kiambu County that is twenty kilometers from Nairobi city centre.l am married and a happy father of two children a boy and a girl aged three and two years and a graduate of cooperative university college of Kenya.Having complete my course in co-operative management in the year 2004 jobs in the formal sector were not easy to find hence venturing into business where l started a printing press with the little capital l had managed to save while in college so as to empower myself economically as while as earn a source of income.l did this business for five years and later on ventured into hotel industry because the hotel business seemed more profitable.l use my earnings from the business to save for my children education as well as re-invest back to the business as my vision is to the best food provider in town.l am hardworking and always motivated to excel in whatever l do.During my free time l like developing my singing talent where l am a member of a praise and worship team in my local church.

My Business

My hotel business by the name Tamusana hotel is located in Accra road of Nairobi city center along Munyu lane approximately 200 meters from the tea room stage.Having a humble beginning where l started selling only snacks and beverages l have watched the business grow and now l deal with the traditional foods because the competition is less.unlike my competitors who deal with fast foods and due to high population of people within the city there is lot of demand of food hence making the business to be very viable. Also due to awareness in having healthy diets people are now shifting from the fast foods to better healthier and traditional foods which l specialize in hence giving me advantage over my competitors within the area.To ensure that l make sales l provide quality food at competitive prices, practice customer care at all times and observe a lot of hygiene and cleanliness because most people prefer clean hotels.l make a profit of ksh 20,000 after deducting all business expenses such as rental income, salaries and paying all the bills that total to approximately ksh 40,000.my main challenge in the business is lack of capital to buy essential equipments needed for the business. If advanced with the loan l will use the money first to buy a warmer that will enable me to be efficient in my business as well as reduce the electricity cost.l am positive that with your support l will be able to take my business to the next level.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders.l take this opportunity to thank the entire zidisha team for giving me the chance to join the Zidisha platform and borrow funds. l am an entrepreneur and operate a small hotel in the Nairobi central business center along munyu lane that is join the famous Accra street. l specialise in african food like mukimo,gwaci,matoke,Ugali/rice with traditional stew.l have been cooking mainly one type of food per day but due to demand l have realised l have to diversify my cooking and cook like three types of food per day to maximise on profits and meet the demand of my customers.l had food warmers but this is efficient.kindly l am requesting for a loan so that l can be able to buy a microwave that will enable me to be efficient as well as reduce the cost heating food now and then as using electricity is cheaper.God bless you as you support me.

My business is located with a 4story building and I have a competitor within. We compete for clients and at the moment due to the beginning of the festive season most of my clients have closed for the holidays and am having a hard time to make ends meet let alone repaying your loan. Am equally moving my family upcountry to avoid the shame of not feeding them. Will resume normal payments early next year. Kindly consider my request

My staff has lost the dad and am having a challenge with work load of cooking and serving and that has affected returns cappaled with the month of December where most of people are leaving the urban to rural to celebrate with family and friends. Am not defaulting but I intend to submit in bits thou i know it will cost me but i'd rather try that than lose credibility to borrow more. Thanking you in advance.

That's no reason to reschedule. Your payment will still be considered on time. You told your lenders the reason, that is enough. I'm sure they will not have a problem with that.
