About Me

My parents never schooled. So my mother is a vegetable seller and late father was tea picker.I managed to school up to form one but did not continue due to lack of fees.I got married and had two kids Brain and Milicent.I separated with my husband after a long standing domestic row and violence.I went back home to live with my mother together with my two kids.I had no career or any profession.I thought of how i was going to raise my kids.i approached our neighbor who had a salon and she agreed to train me so long as i did general cleaning of the salon. This is how my profession started.I stayed in the salon training for one year. Then my mother gave me some capital to start off my own.I now have a salon at Kaptebengwet trading Centre.I have been doing this business for two and a half years now.My son Brian wants to join Kenya Defence Forces and my daughter wants to work as a Airhostess attendant in future.

My Business

Iam a salonist.I make women hair look good, fashionable and amazing.I do braiding, weaving, treatments, relaxing hair,Dreadlocks, nail art, manicure and pedicure.Women like to look presentable and fashionable.I help them achieve this goal. After a divorce its when it dawned on me that i had to do something with my life and take care of the kids.I like also employing myself. Its a profession that i enjoy working. My typical costs mostly in hair chemicals, treatment, rent, electricity, water, weaves and hair braids in a week are Ksh 9,000/=. My revenue based on the number of clients handled per week is Ksh 5,000/-I take of the basic needs of my family, pay fees for my children.Put some aside for purchasing a piece of land to settle on in future.

Loan Proposal

I want to buy a water heat which i will use to heat water for washing hair and disinfecting salon items. The total cost is $ 40.apart form the loan i have putting some money aside to add on the loan.I will be able to handle more clients at high efficiency. Also i can disinfect towels, combs, rollers etc. When you handle more clients than before you get more profits.Which means more investments.
