My name is Neeta Omwanza. I am a born again Christian. I was born in Kitale District but I moved to Kakamega after my marriage.
I have schooled up to Secondary school only since I did not get a chance to get a college education due to poverty. My parents were small peasant farmers and they could not afford to take the 5 of us to school. Since during our time education particularly for the girl child was not valued, It was not a big deal that I did not learn. However, I only wish I got educated as I could be very far in life from where I am today. I do not regret though and that is why I work very hard to give my children and my grandchildren an education.
I am a wife and a mother of 2 children. I operate a small restaurant in Kakamega town centre and I depend on my business to provide for my family. My husband works on our farm and together we support our children.
I have a strong desire to succeed and I hope that with this loan my business will grow and I will generate enough income to support my family.
I run a Restaurant business - Star fast food restaurant. i decided to start the business three years ago because i realized that the location where the business would be located would give me good income because of the high population there and that is just what the business has done.
Some of my most pressing challenges are that I am limited in kitchen space and must use electric pots to make most of my meals. I would like to purchase an oven so I can serve more customers and cook healthier meals. In the future, I would also like to launch a second location where I can expand my menu and bring more Kenyan food and culture to my restaurant. In a month i make profits of upto $ 220 which i use to expand the business more. I have greater vision for my business and look forward to expand it more
I am going to use this money to buy 2 sacks of beans at kshs.2500 each, 1 sack of maize at kshs.1500, 2 sacks of potatoes at kshs.1000 each, and 1 sack of charcoal at kshs.1500. With this stock, I will cook more food enough for all my customers hence generate more income. This loan will enable me increase my profit margins and I will gradually grow my business and eventually open a bigger restaurant.
