Hello. I am a magazine editor and writer based in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently I am working as the editor of an upcoming medical journal. I also provide editorial consultancy services to various clients. I am a graduate of Kenyatta University where I studied for an undergraduate degree in education. The earnings from my work go to paying for my living expenses and to build my consultancy. I wish to venture into consultancy on a full time basis. This will require funds for purchasing a new computer and to pay for tender applications.
I have been using an old personal computer to work, but it has broken down and this limits me on the work I can do now. I would like to use the loan from zidisha to top up my savings to purchase a new computer worth about $ 175 first.
The earnings from my work will enable me to repay the loan.
As an editor and writer, my work involves fast turnaround times and tight deadlines and clients can be very demanding in terms of quality. I need the right equipment to help me deliver this and because I am not able to pay for everything I need at a go, the loan will help me accomplish my goals of expanding my clientele. I will need to buy a reasonably priced computer at $ 175 first then a printer and camera as soon as I finish repaying the first loan.
