About Me

Prosper Owusu Antwi is my name. I am 31 years of age and a Ghanaian. I live in Swedru, I am the first child of a family of seven and attended Bekwai S.D.A Senior High School at Bekwai from there went to Cambridge training college in Kumasi .

I have completed my course in agriculture that is Bsc. AGRICULTURE EDUCATION. I am a teacher and a farmer as well. I have decided to expand the farm to help myself and the family. I am married and have one child but I have three younger siblings who depend on me for a livelihood.

My Business

I am a teacher and have completed my distance education at the university college of education Winneba.

I am into farming and started my own farm in 2005 with about two hectares of land which I want to expand. If I am being supported with this loan of around $107 it will enable me to buy farm inputs and hire labourers to clear the two hectares left to produce vegetables. My salary and the sales of farm produce will be used to repay the loan.

Loan Proposal

When I get this loan, it will enable me buy farm inputs like agro-chemicals and also hire laborers to help me expand my farm. I have about 5 hectares of land good for farming but have been limited to only 2 hectares because of lack of enough funds. I have decided to add 1hectare to the farm if you support me with 150 US dollars loan. I need your help because thing are very difficult and expensive and i can not expand the farm if not being help so please support me. About 75 dollars will be used to hire laborers and the amount left will be used for fertilizers and pesticides. If the loan is being granted to me it will go a long way to touch many lives.
Also it will reduce the burden on me as a result of the distance course I am doing and those that depend on me for livelihood. I know my life will change if i am being supported by the life changers(zidisha lenders). I count on your usual consideration.

    Dear Lenders,

It was really a pleasure to get to meet Prosper yesterday, along with Volunteer Mentor George Bonsu. We met at the school where he works in Swedru, a rural community outside of Kumasi, as a teacher of science and math. Any time he is not at the school, Prosper can be found working on his farm, a bit of a walk from town, where he farms and harvests okra (okro) for sale.

Zidisha loans have allowed Prosper to significantly grow his harvest – making three hectares of land available to him rather than the original one. He then uses these profits to help his own family as well as several needy children he has taken the responsibility to help. He explained that he can finally afford the school fees for one girl, who will start secondary school in Kumasi on Monday. Prosper is also very interested in helping his community generally, and has been pitching in to help with his friend (and fellow Zidisha borrower) Aziz Zakari’s campaign for assemblyman of the combined Wawasi-Swedru district.

It was so wonderful to get to meet and chat with Prosper about his work, passions, and the situation of the community he lives in, and I know he is grateful for the opportunity and support given to him by his Zidisha lenders - they have already made quite an impact in his crops. He hopes to finish paying off his loan in the next week so that he can apply for another one. We wish him all the best!

    Thank you,

    Taylor

That's ok, plus as you have repaid in full I can now give you positive feedback to improve your credit reputation here on Zidisha and this should make future loans easier to access. Thanks for repaying :)

Thanks to everyone for your help and support.
The loan I took from zidisha helped me a lot to expand my farm. The only problem I had was that the farm produce were bought at a very cheaper price so it made me loss a lot of money but in all the purpose of the loan was achieved. It has been a long time since I was busy doing my final and last semester exams.
