About Me

MY STORY
I am Gertrude Unezumeh, 42 years of age and someone who loves entrepreneurship or believes in self-employment. At the early stages of life, I found it a great time to help my mum in her business of brewing a locally-made drink called pito. It is through this small business that she catered for the education of my siblings and I, and it was just wise to help her. Looking at my mum -- who is an illiterate and how far she has gone with her pito brewing business -- it is just far more better to add the little knowledge I have acquired in building my own business. I hail from a family of 7 and I am the eldest.

I completed Nandom Vocational School and took up the opportunity to enhance my mother's business. It is through this that I have catered for my children. I have been blessed with five children. My eldest child has completed senior high school and now works as a laboratory technologist at the district hospital where I live.

I have a great aim to make it big in life and also to be of great impact to those in my society. It is by this therefore that I have moved in the business of buying and selling. I currently also buy some farm products such as maize, pepper, groundnut, etc. and sell to the market. I have a longtime ambition of getting enough capital to expand my business. My dream is to see poverty being reduced and create the room of employing more hands, which in turn will reduce unemployment in the area and also develop my family.

My Business

ABOUT MY BUSINESS
I am into the business of buying farm products on a large scale from farmers and sell it to customers on the market.

I hail from a locality where the main work of the people is farming. Some of the main items that the farmers deal in are yams, cashews, peppers, groundnuts, maize, etc. Mostly after cultivating these items, the farmer find it difficult to get the full value for their money, because most of the items become destroyed, mainly due to lack of storage facilities, good roads and the means to convey the items to the market. Because of this, the buyers turn to give them little value for what they produce.

I therefore wish to stop all this from happening by giving the farmers good value for their money and also making enough profit on the competitive market. I buy the items from farmers within Nsawkaw and the surrounding villages in the Tain district and sell these items in competitive markets in Techiman, Kumasi and Accra, all in Ghana.

I would be glad to get this loan in order to help expand this business. This I hope to do by increasing the quantity of items I buy from the farmers. It is my dream also to extend this business of mine to other parts of the country. By this, I will be able to make good profit to in order to take care of the family, of which I am the breadwinner. I promise to execute and respect the rules and regulation of this noble institution. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

If I am given the second loan again, I will add retailing of millets to my businesses.
A bag of millet is 50$ each from the farmers and sells at 70$ at the market. So if am given the second loan of 848 ,it can increase my stock by 16 bags of millets which will intern to increase my profit of 320$.Also, in the season of cashew, it will also be added to the products. Thanks to any lender who will willingly help to uplift my businesses.
