About Me

My name is Francis kabeta.
I re-apply my second loan which i plan to buy parent stock to get eggs to hatch at my enterprise.
I hail from Kenya, kisii highlands.
I am a child of a single mother.
I am the last born of a family with eight children where i have three brothers and four sisters.
I dropped out of college due to lack of college fee as only my mother was responsible for all the basic and other needs of the family.
My mother being a peasant farmer, i had to do much efforts to make ends meet.
The entrepreneur skills i got in college enabled me to start francina poultry Enterprise.since i started francina enterprise ,i have seen an improved living standard to my life and family.However the small land to the community own the only option people have is to do agribusiness to enable them meet their living standards.The experts i have brought to the community has assisted the society.
I have seen the life of women change from day to day something that has made me to look for more resources so that i can continue the work of empowering women in the society. I have even contact other international bodies like farmer to farmer who are doing capacity building to the women. Indeed this organizations are doing a great work to the community

My Business

I have an established poultry farm in Kisii county.
In the farm i hatch chicks.
Due to quality chicks from the farm , the demand for chicks has increased from my neighboring county of Migori,nyamira and Kisumu
I have been in these business for more than five years.
The business brings good profits in a month.
The business involves the selling of poultry and its products ,e.g day old chicks,one week ,a month and three months.
I also sell manure from the farm as i am trying to encourage women and the society to empress organic farming for better living
Majority of my customers are women groups and youth groups within the county.
I choose to do this business because it is easier to do the farming and majority of the groups demanded quality breeds which i have done.
The costs which are involved are.
cost of buying parent stock to the farm is 500 Dollars
Costs for vaccines which is 20 dollars.
Cost for feeds which is 200 dollars.
Labor costs50 dollars
Electricity costs 40 dollars.
I know the loan plus the profit from the enterprise will enable me to expand the farm and meet the target.
From the business i am able to make profits which i use to
1.Expand the business
2.Buy family needs
3.I look for experts who trains the groups all types of farming

The profits i will make from the business will be used to repay the loan,expand the project and also give back to the community in terms of charitable activities. Mostly i will support when as i an a volunteer with kiva loans and i have seen the loans bring great success in their life through the expansion of their viable businesses and some have started viable and livelihood projects.Much profits will be realized as i will buy 1056 fertilized eggs at a price of 125 dollars and i will sell all the chicks assume one day old at a total of 800 dollars. making a profit of 650 dollars.
