I am a young trader in the person of Mercy Frimpong. I started school at Ave Maria Preparatory, then to Holy Ghost International School where I completed my Junior High School Education. I had the privilege of continuing to the senior high school but things proved futile afterwards so upon graduation in 2012, I decided to start my own small business to make ends meet. Before, I used to sell candies to some school children closer to my place so I moved on with that business in a small shop. I live at Atimatim – Taabuom a small community in the Afigya Kwabre district where I trade in provisions mainly milo, milk powder, etc.
I am solely a retailer in provisions in my shop. I started this business in my own small way whilst I was in school. I used to sell during vacations until after school; I turned this into a fully-fledged business. However finances militate against me. Due to the proximity to the preparatory school, there is high demand of books, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, marker pens and so many stationeries. More so, it is a new area and since so many people find it quite burdensome to get to the market, they probe to my shop to get their things. For this reason, I will need to stock my shop with things like baby diapers, rice, cooking oil and other food items coupled with some other toiletries. I need an assistance to expand this business and I strongly believe I can crawl out of my shell if I am given this assistance.
