About Me

I am the first born in our family and I have only one other sibling, my sister, Ester Wanjiku Njeri. I married in 2010 and God has blessed us with a boy child who is turning two years in two-month’s time. I studied up to form 4. I was studying in Molo 220 secondary school. My mother has brought us up using income gained from farming business. After I completed my secondary education, she concentrated on my sister and I had to find ways of earning my living. I started doing farming. I invested all my energies in it and I have seen good results until today. I turned to farming since I had passion for it and I new that it can pay well if one invests all energies in it. I cultivate various crops but I mainly do potato farming. I have managed to buy my own piece of land of 3 acres from the returns that I have gained from the farming. I also lease more land when I have enough capital to support my investments. On top of farming, I am now involved in the transportation of farm products from Molo to Nairobi, the biggest market for the products. I am employed as an assistant for a truck that does the transportation. I use my salary and earnings from the farming business to support my investments as well as our family.

My Business

I mainly cultivate potatoes and I currently have 2 acres of potatoes that have already flourished and I have put pictures to show. I am planning to plant peas in the other one acre since rotation is important. I use organic fertilizer and this is the main reason why farm products from our area have a high demand. Every buyer in the marke asks for products from our area first because of the organic fertilizer, unlike in many other areas where farmers use inorganic fertlizer. However, the fertilizer is a bit expensive. The good thing is that when we apply it, stays fertile for a long time. I have used my savings and income to purchase the organic fertilizer and I am trying to raise money to support my project for peas. I want to plant peas in the remaining one acre, which I have already put organic fertilizer. I am in need of funds that will help me to purchase seeds for peas. Both the peas and potatoes are well-paying and there is guarantee for return. I also expect high returns since I take the products to the market instead of waiting for middle men. The two acres of potatoes have cost me around $255.5 to plant since I had some potato seeds. The cost of fertilizer for the 3 acres has been $290.3 I need about $174.2 to be able to plant the peas. I expect minimum revenue of $1742 from the potatoes and if I sell the peas, I will expect minimum revenue of $522.6. After deducting cultivation expenses and others that may be applicable, I expect a minimum profit of $ 1161.3 after three months. This shows that I will be in position to repay my loan. I can easily repay the loan from my salary. Kindly, feel free to support me and you will be supporting many people who we feed through the farming business.

Loan Proposal

Thank you entire zidisha and lenders for your support. I currently seek support to buy peas seeds for planting. I have successifully planted potatoes and will harvest in less than two-months time. I need about 174.2 dollars in order to be able to buy the seeds. It is raining season and the best time to plant the peas. I will be able to augment the $150 dollarsa given by zidisha with my savings in order to fuilfil my target. The funds will help to plant the seeds in one acre that I have taht currenntly lies idle and I was waiting to raise the funds. Cultivating the peas will get me closer to my long0-term dream, which is to expand farming into large scale propjects which will earn much better. In addition to expanding my income, I will have a hand in feeding the hungry population in Kenya. By supporting me, lenders will also help to feed some people in poverty-stricken areas. As I have been taught by my mmother, I will donate some oof the produce to the needy, partly to show respect and thank to my helpers. I am going to be convinient in repaying the loan from my salary and when I haevest, I will be able to repay all.

Hello, I am going to repay my loan well next week. I am glad for your suppot. I am harvesting potatoes in mid august and despite rescheduling my loan down, i will reschedule it up again after harvesting. Thank you for supporting me to exxpand my farming business. After harvesting, I will have a good flow of cash and will be repaying weekly. The problem with my work is only that I get lumpsum income at once and it stays for sometime, I do not get it regularly.

Leonardia, hello. Everything is ok. I am late, but I get income in lumpsum after sometime, and it stays for a while. I invested the loan you lenders gave me and i appreciate your kind support. I am going to lear the payment soon, irrespective of the fact that I have rescheduled it down. I am waiting for the next lumpsum income, but will manage the finances well to abide by what I promised. Thank you
