i am a mother of two children brought up in a family of five boys and two girls, our parents did not give us all equal education because we did not undergo circumcision so we were discriminated and left out to help our selves .so we decided to enter into to early marriage .being in my husbands home i decided to do farming by the help of my husband.our land is so fertile for all farming.my first child career is a doctor and the second child career is a journalist .on my free time i like visiting different farmers to learn more from them.
I do maize farming in a two acres land, maize have done well this session so i am going to have a lot of produce.maize in our place is more demand because we have many milling companies around and the market is ready.i like doing maize farming because it has a good return.i spend 60,000 ksh in buying fertilizer,10,000 ksh in farm preparation and 30,000ksh, goes in buying of seeds.i also put 20,000ksh aside for weeding.in two acres land i will harvest 80 sacks of maize, which i will sell 3000ksh per sack,in total i will sell all sacks at 240,000 ksh, after selling all of my harvest i will make a profit of 120,000 ksh which i use in paying my children school fees and the remaining i use in sustaining my family untill the next harvest.
Harvesting maize from the farm i have to hire 10 labourers which will cost me $100 and also hire a tractor for transportation of maize from the farm which will cost me $110.if i harvest my maize i will be able to get ready market with good price.and i will make good returns for my farming.
