My Business

I do run a business is known as Sawamu wears, its located within engineer town, a busy town especially mostly Sundays. I specialize in selling new shoes for different ages. I also stock shoes for school going children and they form part of my larger market. I order shoes from Nairobi, Eastleigh Market where I obtain them at low price and sell them at a profit. My pricing changes with time but I always ensure that I operate or sell the shoes at a profit.

Loan Proposal

I am requesting for Zidisha loan to stock second hand shoes. This has been brought by the fact that most of my customers always request for “mitumba” shoes as they are commonly known. New shoes wear out quickly and there is a wider gap on the same. Most of my competitors stock new shoes just like me and I want to have a competitive edge by stocking variety. Second hand shoes have a long life span compared to new one. It’s in this light that I decided to expand my shoe business by stocking secondhand shoes.
I will get the shoes from Nairobi in whole sale then I will sort them out and put them for sale. A bale costs about USD500 in whole sale per bundle. A bundle can contain on average 250pair of shoes, depending on size, my initial target are school going children so the shoes are smaller in size, hence many These shoes on average goes for USD5. If I was to sell all of them though difficult at start, then I will be able to garner USD500X5=2500. It may not be possible to sell all of them but I will use price reduction as a strategy to sell more while still making a reasonable Profit. Since I have variety of other items, I foresee a good undertaking with good returns. I will top up the remaining amount from Zidisha loan from my personal savings.
