About Me

I am born into a family of seven children. My parents are both alive and they work as farmers in the village. I started my school when I was at the age of four years. I did my primary school and secondary school. After secondary school I joined tertiary level for higher diploma certificate, I finished it and now I am enrolling to start degree in the university.

I was so distressed and had no money to join a college for tertiary studies. My parents could not support me. In the village, there is a rich man who was looking for someone to run his cybercafe in a nearby town. I did not know that the man was paying very low salary to his cybercafe attendants because attendants were stealing his money. When he employed me he did not tell me but customers kept telling me how I was managing to work longer than the previous attendants. I did my best and I did not steal his money from his cybercafe. I generated a lot of money for him and he asked me if I was in school. I told him my case that I lacked school fees. I couldn't believe when he told me that he was going to pay for my school fees in full. Since then I learn to be honest and work hard. This is how I came to decide that I will do cybercafe as my business because it generates good income.

In my culture, we circumcise boys at the age of eight years but when they go beyond eight years without circumcision they wait until when they are twelve or fourteen years. At this time they are forced to undergo hard rituals to make them adult.

I want my children to be educated when they grow up. I want them to run businesses and become great people. When I am free, I love going to the cybercafe and surf.

My Business

Cybercafe is my business of choice. I put computers and install internet for people to come and browse/surf then pay me for the time they have used in the internet. Installing internet is not such expensive because I do buy many bundles and then my customer come and browse using bundles depending of the time spent then pay for the time used while browsing. Before buying another bundles I would have generated money that when I deduct the expenses I will remain with some amount as revenue.
This business is on demand. Every one, especially students are the most targeted customers. They come and browse for their research work in the cybercafe. Also, there is a lot of online applications, either for scholarships or job application. Many people come to browse, receiving and sending their documents through internet in my cybercafe. My business has people coming in daily. I chose this business because I am experienced in it, I worked for someone before but now I am working on my own cybercafe.
My monthly expenditures, buying internet bundles, paying for rent and license costs me a total of $60, however the total money that I collect from the business is $110, this brings me a revenue of $50. I use this revenue to pay for my home rent where I stay, pay transport and buy food. Also I make sure I re-invest the remaining revenue into the business.

Loan Proposal

I will use the amount that I will be given to buy4 internet cables that will cost $20 and buy internet bundles that will cost $20. I will do the internet installation that will cost $10. With this expenditures, at the end of the month,I will make a revenue of $40-$50.

This revenue will bring me greater benefits for me. I will use this revenue to pay for my weekly loan repayments and cater for personal expenditures. I will also use the revenue to reinvest into the business for the expansion of business.

For my cybercafe customers will benefit a lot from the cybercafe. My cybercafe charges are affordable and my clients benefit from it. Since I am installing new cables and putting enough bundles, they will not face any inconvenience while browsing, the speed of the internet will be high so my customers browsing will not find themselves spending much from what they are anticipating to spend.
