Born in Accra on 28th January 1980, I am 40 years old. My father has eight children and I being the sixth. Both parent were into subsistence farming and petty trading
Things became difficult for us after the death of our mother, however I managed my mother petty trading and vegetable farming to pay my school fees. Hawking during vacation periods, weekends and after school hours to get money for support the family is the order of the day. Currently, I completed university and work with Beige Capital as Compliance officer. Planning that in the next four years I can go back to the university to do my master’s degree.
My business is sale of local sandals, beads, slippers, beads tissue box and bead lady's bag. I supply these items to the market women at wholesale prices. Averagely, I make between GHS 1,000 to GHS 1,800 in a month, to still supplement family income. Currently my father is an old man unable to work again. With the Zidisha support, I'm able to earn regular income from my trade and employment, hence I’m able to pay family bills and put food on the family table.
Also, I employed a lady and a guy who assist me supplying these items to the traders in the market centers. Both of them receive a monthly salary of GHS 400.00 each
With additional working capital, I can supply more goods to my customers, hence would be able to make more profit. It's this reason that I am applying the Zidisha loan for the second time.
I need this loan to rent a store so that after the manufacturing of the beads, sandals and lady's bag I display the goods there for sale. By so doing I can reach out to many customers and then increase my profit margin and also employ more hands and by so doing reducing unemployment.
