About Me

My names are David Njuguna, Born in Kinangop which is in South Kinangop in Kenya. I completed my secondary education and did a diploma course in Video Production. This course is meant to prepare one for self employment as there not many institutions that engage in such that one can be employed in. My love for music is strong, I started at tender age in church services where I could just sing as long as I had the audience.

My Business

I am a part time DJ and Ialso run photography business where I print photos from my studio and most of the time I go out in the field in events such as Burial Ceremonies, Birthday parties, home coming parties, weddings, get-together events. I take the photos during this events and sell the same at a cost of USD 0.5 per Photo after printing photos.
I make between USD 15- USD 25daily but on good days i can make up to USD 40.
I would wish to expand and concentrate with field events as this is where large market segment lies. In future I would like to have a modern Photo Studio dealing with all aspects of digital photography. Proceeds from my business go towards family upkeep. I also have great interest in music and I have seen a market gap in that when I go out for functions there is great need for a public address system which is currently not there. As a person with DJ skills I see this as an opportunity and would thus wish to venture into the same market.

Loan Proposal

I am requesting a Zidisha loan so as to purchase a Public Address system which will be available for hire at different functions. I will engage in thorough marketing of this service in my studio and also print posters to market the same. I have a generator that is portable and this will help me great deal when I get customers in areas without electricity. The proposed Public Address system will comprise of with approximate cost;

Microphone(with cord)= USD 0.8
Wireless Microphone (USD) 2.4
I have settled on the above since its easily portable and thus transport cost to areas hired will not be a big problem.
With this I will be hiring it out at a cost depending on time and when not in use it will be in my Studio as a marketing tool by playing music.
Proceeds from this business will go a long way in helping me repay the loan and further expand my business.
