I always had a dream of one day supporting my family to soar high, actually that's why when I started my schooling, I had to study smarter. But when I joined high school,I had a different idea! Actually, perhaps ,this was when I met Agricultural studies.... I discovered that everything I was in need of comes from the soil...And without wasting time,I planned for ways on how to start. By then , I was still in Form two.I didn't have money by then but I managed to use the pocket money I was given by mum to rent a small plot next to Lake Victoria to grow kales. I worked in the farm during weekends and then in when I came from school. From the sale of the kales, I managed to get KES 10,000 from the initial KES 1000.This motivated me and after four months, I grew my own tomatoes!! ,of which I saw as a great achievement.I got KES 35,000.I then proceeded to grow water melons where I fared well too. With zidisha,I know my dreams will come true!
From the farming I practice, I usually plant tomatoes, watermelon and kales. From the start, I do plant kales first since it reaches maturity fastest compared, that is,after three weeks. The money I get from its weekly harvest is enough to propel me in paying the loan and the rest I can incorporate in tomatoes and melons. This is just before the water melons are ready in two months time,in which I can clear the rest of the loan (if any still remains unpaid).
i want to buy tomato certified seeds worth of 3500/-
