About Me

I was born in Bungoma East district in the town of Webuye, a small industrial centre in Western Kenya.I was born to Mr Shem Wasike and Mrs Sarah Wasike who were both farmers. We were 18 children as my father was polygamous and had two wives. We lived mostly on the food we grew and although times were tough for the family, especially in sharing the little resources we had we managed to get by with my mothers hard work. We grew maize, beans and bananas which we used for food or sold to get money to buy amenities such as sugar and salt.
Through this hardship i managed to attend primary school at Lugulu day primary school and managed to pass my exams and joined Munami secondary school where i also passed although i had to supplement my own fees by engaging in work and in various chores around the village through farming and small business which i had started learning. I managed to join Sangalo institute of science and technology to study my dream course,General Agriculture and managed to graduate. After the course i set up my own business, buying and selling agricultural produce and have not stopped since then.I got married and i'm looking forward to having kids soon.I now help to take care of my parents and siblings where possible and i'm always an optimist in life.

My Business

I go to Chwele market and Malaba border town to buy agricultural produce such as fruits, cereals and vegetables then resell these in my local area of Sikata at a profit. These goods enable me to make a handsome profit and i invest part of the profit in my maize farm too.I also keep 50 chicken and raise them to maturity before selling them off at a profit. The business helps me pay my rent, pay my brothers and sisters school fees and to take care of my parents too.

Loan Proposal

I will buy one sack of potatoes at 30$ and two crates of tomatoes at 25$.From the sack of potatoes i will hopefully resell at 40$ and as for the tomatoes i can resell at 35$ making 10$. I hope to make three trips each week with the profits as i expect to sale these items daily and reinject the profits into my stock purchases. I will be able henceforth to expand the variety of foods i sell and will be able to buy my wife and children some new clothes, especially uniform for my children who have been embarrassed constantly by having torn tops.
