About Me

I'm Promise Badu, I live in the volta part of Ghana. I'm a young man of 27 years of age. The location of my domicile is adjacent the Customs Academy at Agortime Kpetoe in the Agortime Ziope District ,Volta Region. Marriage is last thing on my mind because of the attainment of my boiling ambitions.

My Dream is to raise the less privileged in my community with the help of my business. Creating a business avenue to help them get a vocation on their own. I have come to believe the fact that , there is an opportunity in every geographical location for a vocation. Mostly, the youths in my community have limited access to formal education due to high level of penury. I have also gone through the same plight and I do know the zeal embedded in these youths but due to limited resources, they can't realised their potentials.
I always count myself fortunate to have gotten to this level of my business in which I can give a helping hand to people in my community. My dream is to see more of them not only inspired and motivated but make available resources and job for them. I'm Thankful and grateful to have created this opportunity in my community to help not only myself but the indigence!

My Business

Before i proceed to apply, i will like to say big thank you to zidisha team, lenders and to all that are making this program work effectively to help young entrepreneurs raise and expand their businesses. My first two loans helped me in putting stuff in place in achieving my short term goals which is giving jobs to the jobless young youths in my community. I believe with the help of this platform and the support of the best lenders, together we can achieve the targeted goals that’s making a difference by providing jobs and positioning the youths for the future in my community.

I have a vast Kente Weaving Centre in the heart of my community. It serves as a tourist attraction to those near and far. Kente weaving is what I do for a living and it’s only the local job in the area. Kente weaving is an ancient indigenous method in which thread (any colour) is set on a loom and woven into strips that are later sewn together into larger tapestries. These cloths are used for ceremonial events in Ghana. it can also be use as wall hangings, table cloths and the like. This ancient art has gain international recognition where tourists do come from around the world to see how it’s made

Soon after graduating from high school, I have been hired by the president of Trinity Yard School at Cape Three Points in the west coast of Ghana. This school is a fee free vocational-secondary school established by Rory Jackson from U.S.A (VT) to help the youths realize their potentials. I have taught at Trinity Yard School for four years. . During my stay, I have learnt from the kids (students) and also made friends with visiting groups and volunteers from the US and other parts of the globe.

Currently, am with the aim of replicating the ideas of the president/founder of the trinity yard school, Rory Jackson, who made a difference and continues to in the lives of the youths at cape three points to my community by providing jobs to the jobless, training and educating the youths to unleash their God given talents to have a job or vocation on their own.. I have been using the funds I get from the sales of these beautiful Kente clothes as a source of income to enlarge ,renew and purchase more working materials for my center. I am happy to say I have been able to employ some youths in my community as a result of this. Ultimately , I want to be a source of motivation and inspiration to the indigence of my community by running across Africa and getting into the international market. And ready to do business with any interested person. Thanks
