About Me

I was not born into a wealthy family. My father was a commissioner of oaths and my mother was a seamstress. I started nursery in a school called Kovoc, and continued to Presby Kindergarten also in Koforidua. After my Kindergarten, I continued to Riis Presby Model Primary and JHS where I did my basic education and completed it in 2002. Then I gained admission to Koforidua Sec-Tech where I did Science and completed in 2005. Things were very hard during this time that I was even sacked from school for owing school fees in all stages of my basic and secondary education. Because of financial hardship, I even opted to be a day student to reduce cost at the secondary school. But I learned hard to better my grades and got admission into the University of Ghana in 2006 to read Biomedical Science. I started sellling in front of our house to make ends meet and I also added home classes for children when they close from school. Hence the idea to upgrade it into a provision shop and expand it to employ people. Where I live is a very busy area and there are a lot of commercial activities that go on there. My hobby is writing fictions. I have a pile of stories I want to publish but lack of finance has made me put a hold on it.

My Business

I am actually a Medical Laboratory Scientist working with a private hospital in Tarkwa. But as we all know, the private sector salary is very poor and does not flow as smoothly as one would expect. So it is very important to add another trade to balance the finances and help support other family members. It is important to expand the provision shop business because in a commercial place like where I live, there is a high demand for purchasing items and it is important I meet that demand. My typical cost is about 3,000 cedis monthly and my revenue slightly exceeds this by 1,500 cedis. I use the profit to buy more goods to gradually expand the business. I also use it to help in supporting the family and other unexpected cost that may come up.

Project Proposal

As small as my initial loan amounts are, I only use them to pay for transportation of goods I buy into my shop. This helps me save the money that I would have used and I am able to make a marginal profit on that. I am saving my profits periodically so I can also use it to fund other projects here and also qualify for huge loans in the future. Thank you.
