About Me

I am Kelvin Loishorua. I come from Kajiado County. I overcame hardship through the process of multitasking school work and home duties when they were not easy to fulfill them at random.
I come from the Maasai community whereby we value cattle a lot as compared to any other duties. The uniqueness of our land is that it is the place and tribe where we live with wild animals and graze with them. I come from a family of sixteen children where I am the fifth born in the family and the only one who has managed to study up to high school (that is, secondary level).
My dream is to see my young siblings fulfill the dream by making sure they have gone up to university level since my parents have not gone to school. On my side, I have seen the importance of school as much as life is concerned.

My Business

Let me first and foremost thank the Zidisha family for how far you have helped me and trusted me. May God bless you abundantly. Right now I am confident since I joined Zidisha due to what I have learnt and invested through education, job opportunity, thanking so much.
I am humbly applying for the third loan with which I want to major in farming. The farming will take four months and that is March 15th 2017 to July 2017 when it will be ready to harvest. Since it is a raining area, I have decided to plant potatoes as they are easy to maintain and the return margin is a good profit.
The land where I am going to plant my potatoes is a forest area which is rented for at least four years until the trees grow up. On my side, I can see a high profit combining the computer design which I have got from Zidisha loan. It will help me clear the loan as I wait for harvesting time. Since 99% of our people are pastoralists and currently we are experiencing drought in most parts of our country, due to which our cows have died due to lack of pasture and water, that is why I have decided to go for farming of potatoes, so that people can change altitude and go to other areas.
