About Me

I was born and raised in Ongata Rongai.I come from a mid-level background,a last born in a family of three.I was generally a happy child,i worked on my dads farm when i was 13,this helped me get some money to buy some things i wanted like sanitary pads, perfume(being a teenager).I really like the way my parents showed me how to be independent at such a young age because its gotten me to where i am today.
I attended St. Marys Primary School in Ongata Rongai and later did my O'levels at Mbagathi Academy, after that i joined East Africa School of Aviation where i got a diploma in Air Travel and Tourism.

My spouse and i once came across this piece of land that was very strategic,we had to put alot of sacrifice so as to acquire this piece of land, that to me was hardship,we had a change of lifestyle and also sold a lot,so as to buy the land.In the end,it really paid off because we developed it and it feels like a huge achievement.

What i think is most unique about my culture is that when a woman is about to get married, the people from the mans side are the ones to come to the woman's homestead and cook for the woman's family....quite fascinating i would say.

My 5 year old daughter always says she would like to fly a plane, however,i look at her and just think that this is a future model. She has got so much poise, loves modelling and always very conscious about what she s going to wear.

My last born who is 2 and a half years old...oh well..lets just wait and see how that goes.

Cooking is my hobby,i have a passion for cooking and i love learning about different cuisines in different cultures.

My Business

I am a salaried individual, employed by Wananchi Group Ltd. That is my main source of income.I would like to venture into Catering business since i have a real passion in cooking.I enjoy cooking and i am very good at it.My idea is to start providing snacks and food for companies.I would also like to get a popcorn machine, the unique bit about it is that i will be making caramel popcorns which are not commonly available, the upper side about it is that it will not necessarily require a shop,i will just rent some small space which will not be expensive.I will be able to sell to the surrounding environment which is mostly schools as well carry some to sell to offices.

I think the catering/restaurant business is useful because people have to eat, people love snacking.I chose this kind of business because i have done it before and its easy to manage plus it is affordable.

Typical costs would be around ksh.13,000 for the popcorn machine,ksh.10,000 as start off capital and ksh.10,000 for rental space, this should include deposit as well.As for revenue,i will sell each pack of popcorn at ksh.50 ,with an expectation of selling 30 packs ,that will bring me ksh.1500 per day besides the other bitings.

The profits i plan to use in reinvestment as i aim to doing this kind of business full time so as to follow my dreams.

Loan Proposal

Well.....the caramel popcorns were a boom!Everyday i manage to make a guaranteed sale of ksh.800 this is by selling to fellow
colleagues only, the shop sells well especially on weekends.Every week gives me like ksh.6000...on a slow week.

Alongside the popcorns,id like to start grilling sandwiches...sort of like subway sandwich, which are not common at all in my area, they would be affordable and easy to make, what better way to enjoy a movie than popcorn and sandwich right?by the way i did get my popcorn rental space right next to a movie shop....that s a plus!

I would like to purchase a grill...for grilling the buns, this retails for ksh.20,000 and start up for buying the products..meat,cheese,buns and packing papers. The total will be ksh.40,000.

I believe this will take me a step further into achieving my goals.Any support accorded will be highly appreciated.
