About Me

I Benard Otieno was born in 1977 in kisumu county,i completed my primary education at ranjira primary in 1992 then joined otieno oyoo high school u ntil 1996.I then joined bahari beach hotel as a security guard in mombasa,i lost my job and decided to start my business of vegetable vending until now.I stock tomatoes, onions, bananas, mangoes and others,i have gone through a lot of challenges running from raising capital, drought sometimes push inflation high thus prices as commodities get scarce.Often i have to look for odd jobs at such times to raise working capital to stay afloat on business which wont be as the case after joining zidisha.

My Business

I started this business of vegetable vending after getting frustrasted with formal jobs.I started with a capital of shs2000 only but since these goods are in demand daily i have managed to stay afloat all these years.I have managed to take my children to school with the proceeds from there.I make a profit of between shs600 to shs 800 everyday which helps me run my family plough some back in the business. With zidisha i hope lenders will help raise the much needed working capital for expansion of the business to greater heights,i look forward to warm working relationship with all my lenders.

Loan Proposal

I intend to invest the whole of this loan in this business buying bananas, tomaties, onions, sukuma, cabbages etc which are fast moving and are likely to increase my profit margin to between shs 1000 and shs 1500 per day which will help me in moving closer to my goal of shs 10000 profit a day.
