am Catherine a diploma graduate in 2013 aged 25 married and a mother of 1 now self employed for some years changed from fabrics to selling cereals and a green grocer which has been good so far.i feel i made the right decision since pple need them daily.i have now multiple sources of income since I have upgraded to a mini-supermaket.
my business has now grown from an income of 10k a month to above 30k i supply to hotels and schools which gives good returns so far.The items in the grocery move fast i make sure i stock the guaranteed amount needed so as not to have alot of perishables...as i keep my supplier updated on when to deliver more.i also sell uji flour in variety which has also been fast moving.i have managed to employ two ladies.most of my grocery i sell in kgs of which i trained my customers to and they adjusted...each item with a price. The trick i learnt is sorting my cereals my clients love them clean..one way of attracting them.my grocery items are always fresh from the farm, hygiene is another factor i maintain to attract clients and very few things will miss from my shop.good cash management, opening the business early and closing late has been of benefit to the growth of my business.i only give credit to regular and credit worthy clients from stable institutions.so far it can pay rent, pay my employes and me.looking foward to more growth which am hopeful will come to pass soon.putting up more strategies to see it grow.Though challenges of price fluctuations are many i maintain good communication with my suppliers taking what i can for the day according to the orders i have inorder to move with the market price.planning to introduce fruits once am able to buy a sugarcane juice extractor.am able to settle my basics needs and bills through the income generated from this business.transport for delivery is at times a challenge since i have to hire a car or pay a motorbike guy to do the errands for me to make it efficient.i humbly ask for your support so as i will be able to start on my fruits idea and get means of transport.
will buy more items to boost my business for it to grow and have more branches in different towns I believe I will grow to create employment to people who need jobs.as soon as I pay my loan as expected get more and collect my savings to add stock I will grow with zidisha and encourage more to join for its flexible with low interest rates
