About Me

My name is Daniel Mahero from Alupe Teso south,I was born in Teso district in a family of three and i was the last born.I went to a day school called Alupe primary school before proceeding to Kocholia Secondary school . I was not able to proceed to college because of financial constraints.
After secondary education life was very hard,i could not raise money to take care of myself as well as to take care of my family,we could go for days with no food .I neighbor took me as a farm hand in his farm. This when my eyes opened up and i decided to take farming as a viable business. I started by growing traditional African vegetables in my small piece of land before upgrading to exotics like kale's and cabbages.
My business is unique because i use irrigation in my farm and therefore provide the vegetables in large quantifies during dry spells when other farmers who depend on rain can not provide. This always enables me to get premium prices for my produce.
I have for children, they all go to a nearby school. They like reading and they want to be economists in future.
During my free time I like grazing my goats and playing soccer.

My Business

I am a commercial farmer ,my farm provides high quality delicious and nutritious vegetables both exotic and traditional African vegetables . This goods are always in demand because most people are not able to access water for irrigation or lack pumps and so can not irrigate their farms, this makes the demand to even soar during dry seasons.
My typical costs are $100 in a month ,for manures ,labor and pesticides. My revenues average is $250 in a month.
I use my profits to pay fees for my kids ,take my niece to college, and pay for general living expenses.
