I was raised by my grandparents and went to government school till secondary. I started farming in my grandma Shamba which she left me after she passed on. I plant maize and beans in the 2 acre piece of land. I love farming and cooking. My children are too young to know what they want to be. Meru land is very fertile.
i plan on starting a business of selling farm products. i have access to farmers so i will buy farm produce from them and sell to hotels and customers. right now i plan on starting with onions since they are readily available at a cheap prize of Kshs. 40 per kilogram and resell at Kshs. 70.
I will buy herbicides for weeding and top dressing my crops. Weeding and top dressing helps to yield more during harvest...it will give room and space for plants to grow and gain nutrients from the soil without competition.
