Weldon sang is a 25 year old man, is tarted my primary education and Borbrowet primary school and later joined Chemamul high school for my o levels after completion i proceeded to Nakuru teachers college for my P1 course in teaching. I started searching for jobs opportunities and since the system followed in employment in kenya is abit unique i started dairy farming from my savings while in college and now i have a diary cow of which i supply milk to kapsoit.
Later on i joined mount Kenya University for my bachelors of Education Arts where am due to complete in april this year. Weldon sang i a married man and blessed with one girl Gift who is due to join school in the next one year.
I started dairy farming while in college this was after having some savings. I bought a cow and started a semi zero grazing unit. The business is quite intensive in terms of labour . The dairy cow produces 15 litres of milk in the morning of which i supply to the residents and hotels in Kapsoit market which is a nearby market. It has boosted me so much and the rest of the milk i supply to my neighbors in the evening the rest is used for family consumption.
dairy keeping in kenya is common due to its favourable environment and conducive conditions. The area is not quite cold.
a litre of milk goes for half a dollar and by the end of the day i get and earning of not less than 8 dollars.
I shall use the amount loaned to me in purchase of additional feeds in order to produce more milk to supply to the residents and hotels in kapsoit market.
Purchase of feeds in bulk helps to reduce costs and hence saving and purchase of more feeds and other related products to enhance the prospects of the business.
Because this is also a dry spell i shall purchase hay to feed the cow since feeds is quite expensive now.
