my name is silas Ouma . I was born in a small town called siaya in western kenya. I am the second born in a family of 8 children. I went to Uyare primary school and proceeded to uwala secondary school. I passed well and joined univesity of Nairobi for a bachelors degree in horticulture. After completing the course I graduated with a degree in and started searching for a job. I tarmacked for three years and jobs didi come may way. I decided to go back to the village and practice what I studied in school, I wanted to set up a farm for horticultral crops production but things were not easy as I lacked start up capital. I approached a college friend who had go a good job and he offered to give me a loan of $80. I used the money to pay workers to help me with farm work and buy seeds for kale's . The project did not disappoint ,I repaid the loan and got start up capital . I have since expanded my farm to three acres and I can comfortably provide for my family.
I come from Siaya county it borders the great lack Victoria and is also the home of US president Barack Obama.
my first born son wants to be doctor when he grows up. I am a very social young man, I love teaching youths on importance of self employment and the role of farming in poverty eradication during my free time.

My Business

I am an upcoming commercial farm. I grow both traditional and exotic vegetables in my three acres of land. I always irrigate my farm so that I can get the best prices in the market.
Vegetables are always very important in society since they provide proteins which are very essential for growth.
Being a trained horticulturist these was the best self employment opportunity to engage in and that is why I choose these business.
